ARMA: Cold War Assault

I never played a game so long like OFP. Its still fantastic. If you dont know the game (i cant believe that) buy it! The game got one of the best communities ever, with a mass of addons and mods. I hoped gog bring this game and now i got it. Yeah GOG, you made my day!

I don't own the GOG version, I own the retail version and this game is AWESOME. I participated in a tournament where we play VBS 2 and this game sure brought back memories. This game is awesome especially when you're playing with friends since you all get to work together and feel the tense. One question, my friend wants to buy this game from GOG but GOG states that there is a multiplayer mode issue?

This game is old Very old 12 years old now When you buy it, remember that its old. Do not expect too much from it. But what I can say is that you will get the experience of one of the first proper large open world games. You will get a good story set in cold war era (something that I'm missing in todays games... (stupid arms III ) for a nostalgia trip (as i just did with this game. Or you just want to try out some old game that was one of the best 10 years ago. Give it a shot. If you are pickey on graphics, ai and stuff... Stay away, this is an old game, but its good. 5/5

I was impressed with realism the first time I played this game: roaming large area, hiding in the bushes and forests, military conduct, lethal combat. Having an actually enjoyable experience requires a lot of investment, a lot of patience but it's really rewarding. Game modability made me stick to it for years.

This is just Operation Flashpoint rebranded. It's a good game but it's not anything new. It was the first game I played that used realistic ballistics. Bullets have flight time and drop. Accuracy is affected by whether you're standing or lying down. Running makes you tired and less accurate. There's positional damage. One needs to use realistic weapon sights to achieve any kind of accuracy. It wouldn't be at all wrong to call this a combat simulator as much as it's a game.
