Very solid gameplay design. A satisfying power fantasy kind of stealth game. Movement is very smooth and fast, and most of the powers are very fun to use. However, storytelling is almost non-existence (there is a story, but I hardly remember any of it). Worst of all, level design is very bland and repetitive. Most of the time I felt like I was playing procedurally generated fetch quests, on procedurally generated maps. Aside from very rare occasions absolutely nothing interesting happened during any of the levels.
Overall, this feels like an overstretched demo of a real game, rather than a final product.
Don't buy that game yet, if you expect PC standards like:
- control settings
- anisotropic filtering
- exclusive fullscreen
The game does not support anything of these.
The devs did state a few hours ago, that they will add a control configuration option in a future patch. This is the only reason why I am not refunding this game, even though the bilinear filtering we have to live with at the moment is a bad joke too - this is 1990s texture filtering! Unfortunately, AF can not be forced in the GPU driver for this game (I guess the reason is the forced borderless window mode).
The game itself is a clear development from the first game if you like the addition of the sekiro like combat. The graphics are solid if you liked the minimalistic comic style of the first game. The performance is solid (I am playing at a locked 4K/60 on an RX 6700 XT).
If you liked the first game (and sekiro) und you play your PC games with a gamepad and you don't know what anisotropic filtering is, feel free to buy.
