Ara Fell: Enhanced Edition

I tried, I really tried. Looking at the stats - attack, defense, adding/subtracting, but I never found ANY logic in how the combat worked or why the damage inflicted was as it was. No tutorial either, and no guide to find anywhere. Without knowing the rules for fighting, I found it pointless to continue so uninstall for me. If you're into these kind of games (I've never tried one before) it might all be logical and follow 30 year old rules, but for a newbie I don't know how to learn this. In real RPG:s you have a combat-log showing you what happens, but nothing here :/ Also no mouse support, you control everything with keyboard, which might be ok in a game like this I suppose but can be good to know before buying. And movement speed is annoyingly fast - you need to be really quick on the buttons to position your character to go through a narrow door etc, or you'll end up one square on the side and need to back up again.

What a thoroughly *nice* gaming experience. Nothing desperately ground-breaking, but a neat world it has some fun with, very nice world art and soundtrack, no irritations to speak of and mechanics that generally hold up and keep pace with the nobody-to-hero arc throughout, solid characters written well - and often wittily, a story that pays off what it sets up and that has some fun bad guy twists along the way. And a proper epilogue/denouement that takes time to show what the effects, good and bad, of your actions on everyone have been, and to send off the characters you’ve followed the past 20 hours. Thoroughly pleasant, and solidly recommended.

Just finished the game 5 minutes ago, and I am still aglow! What a great little RPG we have here! The world created was very believable and that and the characters were very immersive! Lita is charming, and see never gets boring to play and interact with NPCs. The story is not straightforward with black and white between the good and the bad, it's much more nuanced. Your party members (three) come across very well and definitely have their own personalities! This is a good 40-hour game, with a perfect difficulty curve and little in the way of grinding, in the normal sense of that. I loved the story, the characters, the gameworld and the gameplay, so an easy 5 Stars from me!

For me, is a classic played it since it was a free version on the RPG maker forums, is a time travel to where everything was more simple

nice retro graphics, good gameplay, flow, it not perfect but better most retro inspired JRPG. story is short but good unlike the ten thousand of dialogs in octapath travler. it runs fine on also crappy hardware.
