Anomaly Warzone Earth is an extraordinary mixture of action and strategy in a reversed tower defense formula. The game tasks you with saving a near-future Earth from an alien onslaught. The invaders have captured several of the world’s major cities, building huge turrets that destroy everything in their path. It’s up to you to lead an armor squad through the streets of cities like Baghdad and Tokyo, planning the route and strategically choosing which units to deploy in order to crush the opposition. Take control of the Commander, whose special abilities and quick thinking will be vital in supporting the squad in its mission as you engage in fast-paced, tactical battle across a story-driven campaign and in two heart-pounding Squad Assault Modes.
Enjoy innovative game play, mixing action and strategy in a clever twist on the familiar formula--because this time you're attacking the towers. You will need to think both tactically and strategically, choosing the right squad and the best route for each mission. What worked in the last mission might lead you to wrack and ruin in the next one! Extend tactical possibilities by gathering resources to buy new units and upgrade your squad during a battle. The great graphics and audio tie this game up in a neat bundle, and a sure-fire hit with strategy and action fans alike.

The first "Tower Offense" strategy game ever. It plays like a regular tower defense game, but this time you're the attacker.
Plenty of tactical possibilities for strategic minds: squad management, deployment planning, and constant cooperation between the troops and the Commander!
It's a fun/challenging reverse tower defense game with you driving your convoy through a variety of cordors which reveal one new enemy tower after another. The story and voice acting are entertaining, the music is servicable, and the visuals are great in 1440p.
If you're looking for a game that's easy to pick up and play for a few minutes to a few hours this game is worth the money.
When i was young, before modern consoles, we would go to the arcade and pay .25 to .50 cents for a quick play at a game. This is weekend worth of entertainment for cheap. The gameplay is a welcome change and does not require too much commitment.
Well, maybe it just isn't for me, but I found this game to be tremendously boring. The idea is certainly intriguing, but it doesn't work very well ... all that you do is set up a path for your units to walk along and then watch as they slowly walk and automatically shoot at nearby towers, and then you repair them. Assuming you haven't ran out of limited uses of the ability (you collect those as power-ups). There's some strategy involved in plotting the paths, but nothing terribly interesting, just things like "this tower can only shoot forwards, so maybe we should go around it".
And half the time, the repairing field gets dropped somewhere entirely else than where you want it, so you reload and repeat, hoping that this time the game does what you want it to. And ... that's pretty much it, the entire game.
About the only positive is that the setting is interesting and the visuals and effects all look very cool - but what of it, when the actual game just isn't fun?

that said, the rest is somewhat obsolete.

First the gameplay consists either of 'try, die, repeat' or online-research for tactics and game mechanics first. Neihter is what I consider "enjoyment". For me, it was way too much frustrating to just do 20min grind again and again, just to try another approach for the encounter I failed that comes after that grind.
Second, the combination of extremely wobbly control, lack of keyboard movevent and hectic gameplay was the true gamebreaker for me.
This game has a simple premise, get the convoy to the destination. You control a "commander", which can move wherever you want, unlike the convoy that can only go on roads. The commander can "call in abilities" which can help your convoy reach its destination; you can also pause at any time and choose a different route for the convoy and also its composition or upgrades.
This is a pretty fun and well-made game that actually has a story. Its casual nature makes it great if you just want to play a quick game.
Rating: More like "tower attack", amirite?
Recommendation: You can try this even if you're not into "tower defense" games.
