Anno 1404: Gold Edition

When this game was released it was incredibly impressive in almost every aspect. And even now, revisiting the game after at least a decade, the mechanics are very effective and the visuals are surprisingly appealing. Let look at what we have here, really well done music, art, sound and the game mechanics are fun and deep. You have multiplayer options and not just a meaty single player campaign but may scenarios and such. You don't just get Anno 1404 but you also get the Venice expansion fully officially patched up and now DRM free yes that is right the DRM was a major pain previously and I seriously consider it turned many people off buying the game, but now that is not a problem so if you are into the Anno series and or city/ economic builders pick this up and it should be a very prized game indeed.

A very complete, entertaining, educative and very well done game. The devs clearly put a lot of dedication into this game, and the result is truly outstanding. No wonder why many Anno fans consider this game as the godfather of the Anno-series. And in my opinion, it's better to play the original version of Anno 1404 (this one) rather than the History Edition. The only two downsides are that it is a crying shame that the multiplayer mode is no longer available, and many of the achievements are simply unattainable due to them being downright too difficult.

Re-bought just now after multitude of hours invested into the game. Had initially thought of buying it off steam but once I was met with Ubisoft Connect being instalntly installed alongside of it without my knowledge the game was refunded faster than light. Fortunately GOG came in clutch. If it comes to game itself it got countless hours of gameplay that is worth the price, If you are the type of person that converts $ spent to Hours of gameplay u get then you may never get enough value of the game itself, especially If you are a fan of city building/simulation/resource management genre.

I played this game in 2010 or 2011, and it was one of the best games I played at the time. Now it's 2025, and this game is still one of the best games for me. And even more so, it's the best of the ANNO series.
