Among the Sleep is a first person horror adventure, in which you play as a two year old child. After waking up in the middle of the night to mysterious sounds, you start a journey in the dark looking for your mother.
The game lets you experience the horror felt by a child when familiar and friendly surroundings are transformed into something sinister. While wandering around in surrealistic environments, you have only your teddy bear as a companion. There might be threats hiding in every shadow, but there’s no traditional combat. Instead, you will actively have to find places to hide and avoid confrontation in order to survive. In Among the Sleep you’re vulnerable, scared, and trying to make sense of the world. Dark things will happen. How will you find comfort?
The perspective of a two year old child. You’re small, vulnerable and helpless. But you can also crawl into small places to hide. Seeing your own hands crawling frantically under the couch makes you feel even more fragile.
Focused on story, not cheap scares. Merging a child’s perception of reality with its wild imagination, lets you unravel what is actually causing your own fear and confusion.

For starters - yes, it is very short, for two evenings or maybe one intense night. But! It is also so frightening and gloomy, kind and sensitive and witty. You can really feel like a little child again for a while, when every shadow could be bogeyman, teddy bear was your biggest friend and your mommy was like a sun, center of your little universe.
Ending is not fully surprising (if you pay attention during playing), but I will not say it is anticlimactic. It is meaningful, for story like this. I will certainly play it again after some time.
the game is solid but, the developer could have used fewer loading screens. you should get it, if only to support the norwegian gaming industry. i already got it both for steam and for xbox one. i will get the gog version when it gets discounted.
So my wife played this game (she is new to games) and I did backseat gaming. It was pretty hilarious to watch her get scared and fumble around in the game.

The game is pretty short (2-3 hours) depending on how fast you can find the items you need for certain areas. I'd recommend this game for those wanting to explore games that include 3D exploration, light puzzle-solving, light-horror, platform, story-rich.
Only the first ten minutes of this game are interesting and respectful towards the concept (control a baby). The 90 other % is lame, boring and not even scary. Avoir it, especially at 20$ (WTF?).
