AMID EVIL

In a sea of retro shooters, Amid Evil stands out as a particularly well-executed example.

A fun old style fps using melee and magical weapons. Enjoyed the level design. Combat was a bit to get used to with how far melee weapon reaches as I had played DUSK just before this. Certain weapons works better in some situations. Boss fights were fun. The enemies are different for each "zone" which made it different when having to deal with them.

I don't generally submit reviews unless a game is either really fantastic or really terrible. Amid Evil is the former - it's positively excellent, especially if you like classic 90s style shooters with modern controls and features. I highly, highly recommend this.

In recent years the retro FPS genre has really started rolling, which means two things: a) fortunately, there's a lot more games to choose from, b) unfortunately, there's a lot more games to choose from, as in: we are slowly getting flooded. "Amid Evil" came with the first wave of the revival, but it stands tall even today, amongst much greater competition. It has all that you need in a retro FPS: great art design, great music, finely crafted levels and perfectly tuned gameplay. It's also punishingly hard and maybe a few levels too long for my taste, but I still love it.

there is something about this game that is just so cool and i just love it and here are my reasons below 1 the design: what gets me attracted to this game the most is how cool and sci fi and culture it's just the combination of it it has to it and the sounds and places are pretty neat! 2 the weapons: what i love about it is that the weapons are just neat! my favorite ones are the lightning fork and the spike crystal shooting staff and the planet launcher! 3 its fun: not only that this game is cool but i just love how fun it is and the killing is satisfying in it! the cons: so far ive not come in to any complaints about it but the only 2 issues ive had are the fact that the game gets kinda challenging at some parts even on easy mode but otherwise its fun but the other problem is that when you die you have to restart the level or load your saved game but i just save it every now and then at some parts like the parts that are gonna get kinda hard just so ill never have to restart the level again edit i cannot wait for the expansion i hope i get to play it soon!
