Alwa's Awakening

Many people refer to this as a Metroidvania - which it is, but it reminded me more of lesser known titles like Battle of Olympus or Faxandu. If you’re familiar with this games, you know exactly what you’re getting here! But with better QOL in the controls department. So why only 4 stars? Because I’m not really into platformers anymore. So don’t like the style of game, but the game does the throwback concept so well that I felt it appropriate to rate high!

I was obtaned this product for free, but i like this retro game in moment. ou yes, old good time are comming when heroes was really heroes, not people with fear from life. thanks also for a little storyline, bad magicians are awfull we must stop them all, like Spongebob saying ;)

No technical problems nice pixels. End location significantly harder than the rest can be frustrating but is managable with enough tries. I don't have patience to look for all hidden passages, completing main quest is enough in my opinion.

This game gives me flashbacks to the tedious difficulty of the original NES games. Even with assist mode, which only partially mitigates the wasteful backtracking and obtuse locations of collectibles, the game leans too heavily on catering to high-end experienced players. Not nearly as much as La Mulana, but certainly a game for veterans of puzzle platformers.

Very fun retro metroidvania. I just love it.
