Janky and Ambitious

The combat gameplay is borderline Naked Gun levels of comedy and jank, most of the line delivery is eye rolling and the story is both boring and very low stakes... But i still think this game would be perfect for a remaster, Obsidian makes fantastic RPGs and this one is no exception your choices and conversations shape the world around you and the characters you will save or kill have real impact on the story.

Good game but

I played this bitd on xbox. It really felt like it was configured for a controller. A spy game with some cool mechanics and felt like it was riffing on Jason Bourne and Mission Impossible. It was however quite janky in places and some builds were pretty naff and others were pretty OP. Shotgun and/or melee builds for instance were pretty awful and some boss fights could be brutal if you played one. Pistol and stealth builds were incredibly poweful. The pistol had an ability to one shot enemies and could be chained to auto take down up to 3 at a time. It was also useful against bosses as well. I don't know if this was ever addressed when it switched over to PC. Its difficulty system was unique as I recall. You picked between an unskilled agent or a vet with established skills at the beginning.

Worked well with no glitches

Played well on my PC handheld AokZoe A1pro I never played the game but the ps3/360 era was my favorite time, so I knew what I was getting myself into. Old school RPG with jank, but it was a blast to play. It's a rarity to play as a spy, even with the jank Solid 60 fps, recommend for 360/ps3 gamers

Great this is back

Flawed, but perfectly playable game with somewhat outdated menu navigation. Not the hardest, but kep interesting due to the dialogue / paths. Glad this is back and I hope it inspires a few more.

between Goldfinger and Red October

I hate chris avelone so much. although it is funny that with a voiced protagonist and character animators breathing down his neck Chris finally learned to be concise. That or there was simply nothing in the setting that lent itself to a 20min socratic dialog on the nature of the Force and ethic between Mike and his handler. I am being facetious for the most part. The game still is a fascinating oddity: Chris Avelone and Obsidian at the time the standard bearers of C-RPG, taking a bite out of the forbiden fruit that ended up destroying Bioware. Dialog wheels, action oriented third person shooter and a pre-set and voiced protagonist. And yet you can still feel Mr Avelone grasping through this cursed canvas with his maximalist understanding of choices & consequences. Minor choices made hours ago and worlds across come back either to haunt or grace your playthrough. miriads of storyline grow or die by your hand. if only I knew what my hands were doing I would feel like a God but as it stands my fantasies regarding a giant chainsmoking former stasis officer will remain fantasies. I'm grasping in the dark to try and utter the right words but I do not now what I'll say and Mike is a psychopath that I only partly control and the seasoned government operative spend most of the game shooting a gun as well as I imagine I would considering I've never touched a firearm in my life. It is simply the worst of both worlds in a lot of regards but even after all of this I come back to it and I wrote this review in some kind of fuge state because the window popped-up and after navigating the soulcrushingly ugly and bare levels of KotoR 2 I suddenly realized I had some grievances to air if only to the void.
