A true classic, DRM-Free!
This game scared the hell out of me when I was younger, and still does today, because it’s simply that damn good at its job. Not only is the AI for the Alien genuinely good and terrifying in its ability to catch you and learn from your playstyle and errors, but the team behind this game gave proper attention to detail when designing the world; there are no holograms or fancy tech here, everything is chunky, used, and complicated to use. Which makes hiding from the Alien and other threats that much harder. Have fun ;)

Not-to-be-missed for Alien fans
From start to finish, Alien Isolation is tonally perfect, as an homage to the original movies. All of the environments, sounds, and cultural themes build a convincing and immersive window into Ridley Scott's universe. The game is directly connected to the films, and does not interfere with any canon, so (in my mind) can be considered rich and vital lore. At many times, the gameplay can feel oppressive, or even seemingly impossible... but if you push through, use some survival instincts, and really keep your eyes on the prize- you will walk away from the game with a sense of accomplishment, and if you are a fan of the universe- you will also walk away with a lot of new inspiration and insight into the setting. Be aware: Alien Isolation is a stealth-first game. there will be weapons, and encounters that seem solvable by combat, but there are very rare situations where you are on the offensive. for 97% of the game, you will be on the defensive; using primarily stealth, secondarily tools and traps, and tertiarily directly defensive weapons. You will have little opportunity to defeat your enemies-- you must prioritize survival, and pursue your objectives with intense focus. ENJOY!

This game is actually scary!
This is proper survival horror. I had to beat the game, with the lights on, and it's so scary I was very hesitant about going back to complete the DLC. This game got in my head!

The Alien game we all wanted
If you want to know how the original Nostromo team felt while they were hunted by that creature, while desperately seeking ways to escape and not getting cornered, play this game, play it slow, play it on a high difficulty but not too high and still enjoy your first experience. I've put over 50 hours into this one and it is a gorgeous game on all aspects. From start to finish, everything you see and here in the game was done with love from the classic-horror 1970 movie. They created the visual aesthetics researching old VHS tapes to get that old retro sci-fi feeling which is a lot more appealing than what we have today. For a 2015 survival horror game, it does an excellent job even though it gets a bit repetitive, but it offers a great playground. It deservers all the love even if you are not an Alien fan.
