Go forth into the galaxy, steal AI technology, recapture those planets you must in order to achieve your ends, and save what remains of humanity. But draw too much attention to yourself, and the full might of the AI overlords will come crashing down.
The inattention of the larger AI is our only hope: a small resistance, too insignificant even to be noticed by the AI central command, has survived. These are the forces you will command. The AI subcommanders will fight you to the death when they see you -- but your glimmer of opportunity comes from quietly subduing those subcommanders without alerting central processing to the danger until it's too late.
Humanity has already fought its war against the machines -- and lost. In this modern RTS classic, it's your job to win the ultimate David vs Goliath battle.
Some of the most unique AI ever seen in the genre, set in procedurally-generated galaxies with 50,000+ ships in them.
A unique blend of 4X and grand strategy thinking at the galaxy-map level with RTS mechanics and tactics at the planetary level.

graphics are that bad, it impairs functionality. I cannot differentiate between fighters and bombers at first glance, let alone between some UI elements. Maybe the game is not made for FullHD res (i'd like the symbols bigger, too...). In any case, I do not want to look at a heap of coarse-grained pixels for over a second before I get what this symbol means.
This one looks strange, ugly and annoying at first, but is actually quite novel and interesting, especially for a long-term strategy fan who's seen it all.
It is a bit of create your own experience and barebones, which is a put off at first, but allows for much higher replayability, I imagine.
You will enjoy it if you like grand-scale RTS and TBS games, fortress defense and offense, and leisurely planning your tactics while fending off periodic attacks.
It is about halfway towards being a game in its own genre. It does away with treating human and AI players equally, and turns your conquest against AI into a long continuous campaign where you control the speed of progression and growth of difficulty with your own actions against the AI. Your task is basically to slowly boil the two AI players without raising their ire too fast to handle.
Therefore, it is a single-player minded game, don't expect to be able to deathmatch against your friends, only cooperate with them against the AI.
Also, graphics is barebones as well, no stunning visuals or realism here, but no performance problems either; a gaming PC is unnecessary.
This game has a very interesting concept. Instead of playing AI that are trying to simulate human players, you're playing an AI that plays like a semi-self-aware machine. Intriguing.
I ran into a lot of issues with mechanics in this game. I often had to click a building multiple times before the game realized what I was trying to do. My ships often seemed to lose track of the fact that they needed to attack the enemy. I got tired of sending in a big fleet, only to be wiped out when my ships acted like low-level machines instead of human crews.
Also, very little in the game is explained. There is a decent tutorial, but it leaves many questions unanswered. And I was unable to find answers to most of my questions online. For example, I never figured out how to build the larger fleet vessels. I got tired of not being able to find information. Since the game doesn't provide adequate in-game help, it became too much of a hassle for me to continue.
I can understand why experienced players like this game. I could probably learn to enjoy it with more time playing. But I chiefly want to play a game, not study it. I study quite enough in my professional life.
