So the original version I have of this was from Fakku and it is up there with every creepy retro horror game I have ever played. It is NOT an RPG Maker game. It's a classic 8-bit game in the style of Sweet Home on the NES. It will mess with your head. You may say, "but Grim, it can't be that scary because there's hentai in it!"
Well, you'd be wrong. The hentai barely lightens the mood and the prologue has a rather frightening end. The score is also chilling, it fits. Later on you'll have a team of characters and you'¡¡ fight turn-based RPG battles. There's a lot to this game and there's nothing else like it. There probably never will be. No one has thought to combine actual spine-tingling horror with hentai the way this game does.
As for the scenes, you can have pixelated or non-pixelated and BL is even featured a toggleable as well.
ITS GREAT! Musics great and the NES aesthetic is awesome. The pixel work is great, feels a bit like a Resident Evil demake. I definitely enjoy my NSFW games with a lot of substance (not just a pretty face), and this game is a perfect example of that. Another quality NSFW game on GOG.
I already have the game in other platform, but I would buy another copy here because I enjoy the game. I won't lie; it has its problems in gameplay. Some parts may confuse you, and the game doesn't explain some mechanics well, but hey, you're just entering a haunted house. Are you supposed to know everything beforehand? As for the NSFW scenes, they're sweet, juicy, and come in two forms: pixelated and non-pixelated, both of which are gorgeous.
I was surprised to see that the game included two BL routes. It's so rare, at least in my experience, to see games that have possible straight relationships also have BL ones. It was a welcome surprise. Another thing I would like to mention is, yes, the game has NTR, but most of the time, it's up to you to make it happen. But I won't spoil more; if you don't enjoy that kind of stuff, you can avoid it.
It goes without saying that this game has hard-to-watch scenes (rape, murder, gore). This is not Disneyland; it's a haunted house that is actively trying to kill you and your friends. Oh, I forgot to say that there are possible harems in both straight and BL routes. That being said, I would like to tell you to try the game; only you can say if you liked it or not. As for me, I wish there were more ways to support the author of the game. For now, buying the game will do the trick.
Abaddon: Princess of the Decay is a great blend of Japanese horror and Lovecraftian dread. The game has an 8-bit retro aesthetic that combined with the story and gameplay captures the hopelessness and inevitability typical of Japanese curse and ghost stories, where the supernatural feels omnipotent and unstoppable. Combined with Lovecraftian themes of insanity and incomprehensible forces, it delivers an experience that is unsettling and engaging.
I can confidently say that while the NSFW exists in the game, it’s not the focus. Instead, it enhances the oppressive atmosphere and serves to underline the darker themes of the story. For those who are not fans of NSFW elements, don't worry, it’s inserted into the narrative in a way that feels organic and very much like 80s/90s horror movies, and not out of place.
Besides, you can avoid the nsfw content by disabling the DLC.
The unique gameplay, eerie visuals, and haunting soundtrack create an unforgettable horror experience. Whether you’re here for the psychological terror, the intricate story, or the retro RPG feel, this game delivers. If you love dark, atmospheric horror that lingers with you long after you’ve put it down, this is an absolute must-play.
