Had potential that wasn't fulfilled

Got this game on Gamepass. A stealth game with a little combat and a LOT of storyline. The story itself was fine, but the dialogue is a little lame at times, and the way Amicia talks to herself is often hilariously bad. Frustratingly, the game narrows down the corridoors of travel so it basically becomes "pick scrub 'A' or wall 'B' to hide behind and continue moving on, choosing to either kill or sneak past guards". There are LOTS of chapters where the majority of it is justing running, or worse, walking while there is exposition. If they got rid of these sections the gameplay would probably be cut short to 8 hours, so this was obviously a ploy to lengthen gameplay time. The graphics were decent, and only a few glitches of NPC's getting stuck or killing themselves. The music score is decent. I feel like if they had worked it towards being a little more like Shadows of War/ Shadow of Mordor in gamestyle (obviously with less combat options) would have worked better. All in all, this game left me frustrated, and yet the storytelling deserved better.

Excellent sequel to the first game

After beating the first game, I could not get enough and purchased the second game immediately. I use an Xbox controller while playing on the PC and noticed right away not all buttons perform the same as the first game. After a few chapters worth of playing I've quickly adjusted to this new method. I thought the graphics of the first game were superb, however the sequel takes it quit a bit further with many advance features of the 4000 series Nvidia graphics cards. Using a 4080 myself, I'm able to play the game max settings w/ ray tracing around 60 - 100 fps pretty reliably. (Using a laptop) The sound, music, and voicing is great. In my opinion it feels more fleshed out in the sequel. Despite being only 2 hours into the game I feel like I've slid right back into the lives of Hugo, Lucas, and Amicia without skipping a beat. I can't wait to finish the game!

Good story, busted mechanics

After playing Innocence and Requiem, this one is definitely worse in terms of mechanics. The story is great in both titles, although the continuity is a little lacking where Requiem seems to have forgotten the events of Innocence, especially Hugo's experiences controlling the rats. But what really annoyed me in Requiem is broken gameplay mechanics. Crossing an area covered by rats? No problem, light something on fire, follow it through the area. At the far side, try to mantle onto the next platform. Try again. Try again. Get eaten by rats. The key-press prompt is there, but pressing the key doesn't do anything. And the "sprint away from the rats while looking backward" is terrible.

Stunning

Best game of 2022 in terms of atmosphere and graphics, no doubt. Just make sure you don't expect a fast-paced wopen-world shooter, then everything will be fine. :)
