Follow the grim tale of young Amicia and her little brother Hugo, in a heartrending journey through the darkest hours of history. Hunted by Inquisition soldiers and surrounded by unstoppable swarms of rats, Amicia and Hugo will come to know and trust each other. As they struggle to survive against overwhelming odds, they will fight to find purpose in this brutal, unforgiving world.
1349. The plague ravages the Kingdom of France. Amicia and her younger brother Hugo are pursued by the Inquisition through villages devastated by the disease. On their way, they will have to join forces with other children, and evade swarms of rats using fire and light. Aided only by the link that binds their fates together, they will face untold horrors in their struggle to survive.
As their adventure begins… the time of innocence ends.
Yes, it is very pretty. Yes, it has an interesting story and engaging characters. It's complete dog ****. The "controls" are infuriating. The repetition is mind-boggling. Just skip the *&$#ing thing, it's terrible. And I LIKED Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice. This game is ripping off Hellblade like crazy, but 1000x worse. Just skip it.
In the second scene you have to run/sneak through a town of murderous villagers. You die all the time and then have to watch the same grissly cut scene over and over to re-try. After 10 or so attempts I just gave up, lost interest, uninstall, refund.
A boring, cliche story about annoying children with little gameplay and easy puzzles. There's really not much to say besides the fact that the "game" is just bad.
Overall the game was fun. I liked the gameplay and stratagy changing in the game. In the beginning you play the game trying to avoid rats and this changes to using them for your good as you move though the game. I love historically accurate games; this game is not one of them. The story is totally made up and you would learn nothing about the real story of the plague in this game.
The language at the first part was not bad, but as you progress they start to use the F-word and several other words that I would not want in my home. That was the saddest part of this game for me.
One thing that I am not a big fan of is how you die. When you die and it respons you at the last checkpoint. I much rather have it be a little more like SOMA where it gives you a higher chance to run away and hide to continue in the game, and if it kills you it backs you up futher in the game and points are lost, making it a better score/more items if you don't die.
Overall the game was fun and I enjoyed the story overall--especially the ending. I loved the relationships they had and the more complex feelings of Hugo and Amecia.
