A New Beginning: Final Cut

First of all I have to mention the subtitles, which are a blessing in the gameplay, but horrifyingly bad in the cutscenes, not only that, but they are also out of sync. The story begins in a slow manner, but slowly calling your attention to the problems that emerge in its history, with interesting characters with very characteristic personalities. This is not a game in which you need a guide as in other games of the same genre, but I had to consult it a couple of times in some parts of the game. The puzzles are logical, they are not there to slow down the game, and if you don't know what to do, you can just skip them. The game has a decent length, could not tell you an exact number because I lost track of time, yes, that good of a experience it was, is an excellent game, at least worth a try. Is a point-and-click done right, and I love it for that.

Beautifully made and satisfyingly long adventure game with tons of item and logic based puzzles of varying difficulty and only one puzzle that is too coo-coo for its own good. German voice acting is great all around. Full recommendation and worth it even at full price. 5 stars for the German dub only, the English dub is poorly done. For the best experience, choose German as the spoken language during the installation and choose your own language for the subtitles and you'll be perfectly fine.

I enjoyed the gameplay, the puzzles and the graphics. I have tolerated the ecologist preaching. And finally, I have suffered the cheesy story and the soap opera dialogues.

Among of a lot german mediocre adventure games, which are great in presentation, but loose in story and game attributes, there is always a one exceptional. A new beginning is the one exceptional. Old school adventure with nicely done story and drive, with great presentation. It reminded me the remakes of Broken Swords. Yes there is still some bugs and wrong translations in the game, but it is still great game worth to play by anyone who loves adventures like broken sword.

I'm not going to give this a lengthy overview, I'll just say that the game is great if you like point and click adventure games. It's very atmospheric and has a great soundtrack. My only real gripe would be the voice acting for the english version (I have no idea about the german version, since I can't understand it.), It kind of sounds like they handed the people their lines with no context to what they were reading. If you can overcome that however it's a solid game.
