A New Beginning: Final Cut

I liked the game. The story is interesting. I didn't have to pixel hunt for items, and if puzzles are too difficult, they can be skipped.

Not extremely difficult, which is something I enjoyed. As there are games that frustrate me when they seem to be stuck and the reason is that you're missing a pixel or something like that. The topic is also interesting and a good way to transmit the idea. The quality of the animations and character development is great.

A very good and beautiful Point & Click. Puzzles are not too difficult and the harder ones can be skipped. The only problem is one point of the plot : the very german biased vision of nuclear energy and blindness to their addiction to coal and methane. Hopefuly , the quality of the adventure and characters are saving the day.

A New Beginning is a point and classic click game. If you know the genre you'll know what to expect. There's nothing new or original about it, but it's a decent game for sure. The cutscènes are like comicbookpages, and it's nice to look at them. Some negative issues: It's short. I played it in 13 hours, and I think that you could do it a lot faster than that. The voices could be better. It's not terrible, but... On the other hand... It's on sale for 0.99. For less than a euro this is worth it.

Well, I admit I had somewhat low expectations about this game, as I picked it for even less than a dolar, and for the most part, game did not fall below them, turning out to be not so bad experience after all. Tho it's not a great game. Very best part of it is the artstyle. Yes, not the story, not characters, not puzzels, nor animations, wich isn't hight prase for point & click game. No of elements is godawful, but none rises above beeing just ok-ish and averange. Story in particular can turn some people off, as it is very preachy about ecology and humanity's impact on enviroment, having rather serious tone and overdemonazing nuclear energy. Big plot twist near ending isn't helping either. Oh, and game have probably one of the lowest tech vision of the future i've seen in games involving time travel. It does it's basic job, not nothing more. Characters are bit better. Fay is likeable and player can relate to troubled past of Swenson. And voice acting is quite decent for them, and servisable for rest of the cast. Everyone else is sadly clishe and quite forgetable. Puzzels are on the other hand all over the place. Most of them are fairly logical, but some are awfuly tedious. One involving valves ( there alwasy have to be valve puzzle, isn't it... ? ) is just terrible, and hard even with solution. Overall it's really a mediocre game. For fans of P&C games, or someone who (like me) bought it on sale, it isn't waste of money. For everyone else - there are a lot better games in that genre.
