Best game you never heard of

If you can get past the quirky graphics, the game is absolutely fantastic. Skills level as you use them in a style similar to Runescape and there are a good amount of them to level up. You can tame monsters, play an in game tcg, fish, cook, craft weapons and armor. The game is surprisingly deep. Most importantly for me. It isnt restrictive at all. If you want to break the game you can with enough effort. I had some amazingly powerful tames pretty early on because I levelled my fishing so high in the second town that I had gold just flowing in so I could buy bait and traps at will. It took a good chunk of time but it was really cool to see there were no artificial restrictions in place. If you are on the fence then definitely jump in. You won't regret it

Did not capture me like the previous two

I played 9th Dawn 1 and 2 on android and finished them both. Both were so simple regarding gameplay compared to this one, but I would not easily guess that simplicity would play a major role that a game would keep me entertained through to the end. I also bought this one on android, tried to play a while but the new mechanics and things to do quickly grew stale on me. Even the running animation, which most people praise in the playstore comments, made me want go back and play the two previous titles again. I did not try long, because there is a refund window on playstore, so unfortunately I refunded this one. If I played long enough, maybe this one would grow on me as well. But after finishing the first two titles - those who played them would know - I did not feel encouraged to play this through to the end. It just gets, uhm, grindy and repetitive I guess. If I had not played those two before, maybe I'd be more inclined to play this one through to the end. For those who are thinking about playing the first two titles before this one, I highly recommend against it. Just have a go at this.

A bit mindless, but fun

It's kind of like your typical top-down Action RPG, like Diablo, but with the addition of tons of crafting stuff, and ten billion more enemies. The dungeon crawling is about as simple and oldschool as it gets: Explore a dungeon, kill enemies by the dozens (or hundreds), flip levers to open gates, which serve as your keys (until there's actual keys late game), sometimes kill a big bad at the end of yer dungeon, and solve your quests, tons of them to go around, most of them optional. Early into the game, you get your second party member, which can be customized just like your protagonist, so it's a good idea to specialize them in something that your main character isn't specialized in (magic, in my case, and magic is kind of MANDATORY for clearing out the stupid amounts of enemies in dungeons later on. My mage ended up killing about 85% of all enemies) Both of your characters can even have up to 10 pets, each. You can make a pretty formidible necromancer-esque army if you put your time into catching and training creatures. There's tons of skills to specialize in, such as various melee weapons, ranged weapons, staves, armor, crafting, etc, which level up Final Fantasy 2/Elder Scrolls style: The more you use it, the more it levels up. Unfortunately, leveling up crafting skills is pretty tedious and slow, I only ever got decent at cooking. Thankfully, like any good ARPG, you'll just end up finding way better gear than you can craft, anyway. 7.5/10 - Fun, but tedious. Ended up dodge rolling past hordes of enemies towards the end half the time, before having to nuke them if they ganged up on me.

Nice premise, bad art and animations

I really wanted to like this game, the premise was good; an open world game with crafting, taming all kinds of beasts, learn whatever abilities you want and the classic quest to save the realm. But I can't get over how ugly the sprites are and how unappealing the animations are. I feel a bit of shame admitting this, as this vanity and superficial focus is hardly a good look. But it's the truth and how I really feel, it keeps me from wanting to play the game. I don't care to level up and find loot if it's all ugly and poorly animated. I might also add that the combat isn't satisfying. This is a huge dealbreaker for me as well.
