Could've been much better
I've bought this game hoping for some cool action game which I could play in free time. I am disappointed. Starting from the least offending issue - animations. The graphics are okayish, the visual effects are okayish, but the monster and character animations are as unsmooth as they can be. It's irritating, but certainly not something that will stop me from playing. Then came the levels. At first I thought they were indeed random, but after a while I've started noticing patterns. Right now I think that there are actually a dozen or two of basic level layouts, which are slightly modified/mixed/randomized and served as "random levels". That made the game much more boring. Now, the bosses. I've killed 5 of them, and they were all lacking something, but I can't put my finger on it. The battles lacked feeling. And the music was completely out of place. There were a couple of engine quirks, but none of them was enough to be a very minor irritation. The last problem I have is the monotony. The first 20 minutes were interesting, but then it went downhill. I think I've expected a much more varied arsenal and a larger amount of upgrades. As of now, the game consisted mostly of running around in the same corridors fighting the same monsters with the same weapon. To sum it up: The game is okay for the first 20 minutes, then it goes downhill. No crescendo, no big climax, no build up. It's more like old arcade game gone wrong than a novel idea.
