8Doors: Arum's Afterlife Adventure

Games nowadays kind of has to catch the interest quite fast if people are going to play the games. After spending 200+ hours in Cuphead and Hollow Knight, I really wanted something similar. I felt this was exactly the game I needed. I gave it 1 hour of gameplay, I beat the first boss and came a bit longer. But there was just something annoying about the level design that bothered me. It felt like Meat Boy or some game that was just made to have a lot of obstacles just for the sake of having obstacles. The graphics was nice, but it felt a bit repetitive and monotonous after a while. I did not really get any feeling for anything, even though the game mechanics were pretty cool. It felt like they got inspired by a lot of nice parts from Hollow Knight, but made it worse in some way. I may give it another hour to see if I will start enjoying the game but this far I don't really want to keep playing.

I don't have much to add beyond what's already been said. It's a charming metroidvania based on Korean folklore, at a moderate difficulty for the genre. The only negative points are the controls feel a *little* stiff, and the final boss design leans too heavily into bullet hell compared to the rest of the game.

Genuinely very well put together Vania with a cool, unique Korean mythology setting. I have some problems with the controls. The wall climbing and double jumping can be a bit jank at times and Arum can sometimes be swinging in the opposite direction your trying to attack. Nothing game-breaking though. Beware: Final Boss is a bit of an MF'er. You know what nobody asked for in their Metroidvania? BULLET HELL!!! Still: very, very good. I'll rank it somewhere below Super Metroid/Symphony of The Night but above Guacamelee.

Unable to Control the Game The Korean game coding is as junk an Chinese and other asian place's game. The key remap function is a mess and it malfunctioning, the game locked the confirm to jump action and back to attack, the go-back/menu key is been silented in game, so player can't control the game once start into story. The control in menu is performed normal, but once into the game the controls are all fleed. and There's no possible to advence dislogs in scenes, you can only "skip" scene without holding key and you are not able to view it again. and The fonts are shoddy, which is all asian softwares has. Neowiz big company, but tiny coding ability. Graphics are vector but programming is awful as same as its Android game.

Atleast have the common sence not to save me right before it. Now I can't even take a break from trying this shitty puzzle.
