8-bit Invaders

Lighthearted and fun- but can be challenging too. I like the wide selection of different factions/armies you can play across all the 8-Bit games. I hope this continues to grow as more are added in future releases. The battles can get pretty epic too- I almost titled this review "RTS For The Masses... Of Units!" Nothing like cranking out your army with your building multipliers stacked up :) Small word of advice; if anyone is struggling with some of the hard mode objectives- try using "Attack Move"- this made a world of difference for me in hard mode on the campaigns to unlock all the stars.

I have a blast playing this game regularly as a guilty pleasure and I've recently been going through it again to achievement hunts as a way to get more replayability from it, but there are several broken things. If you save a match to come back to later you can't. If you choose to abandon the save and go on with other missions it will ask you every time if you want to go back to your save. It does this as well in the galactic mode so you better have a couple of hours to kill to complete the whole map. There are achievements that are broken. Cranioid campaign on hard is one of them. That's why there's 0.0% completion for it. You can't download custom maps. They have their "Community Maps" section and it looks like it goes through the entire download process but it just puts you in the first default map.

Playing this feels really good. It's a good game. Unfortunately the game doesn't feel finished. It needs more upgrades like giving passive bonus, to keep it simple you know. Anyhow, I'll give away my support, but this game need major patches to deepen the races and justify its price. gl hf

That's really all I wanted to say. I've nicknamed this game Lego StarCraft. But seriously, as a fan of both the WarCraft and StarCraft franchises, I found this to be an enjoyable casual RTS. I say casual because 1, the campaign isn't particularly storied, 2, base construction seems a little simplistic and 3, there seems to be some recycling of maps in the campaign. That said, I did find that the game could present a fair challenge (with selectable difficulty to suit your style), and both factions have a healthy roster of units available to build your armies from.
