Dear internet,
I write this to you today to address a grievous sin that I have witnessed on this voting board.
Those of you who have ended up voting for Forbidden Memories and not this? Who hurt you as a child? What kind of trauma did you suffer to vote for that but leave this one ignored? Forbidden Memories was not as fun as you remember, and it certainly was not as unique as the experience you would instead get from Duelists of the Roses.
In Duelists of the Roses, you are in the pseudo-history period of the War of the Roses, and the combat plays out over the course of a field rather than the typical card game battle. And honestly? If the YGO TCG actually had an alternative play mode that took directions from this game? I might actually have given it another try - rather than shelving the hobby after seeing what it turned into from GX onwards.
It had much less focus in regard to RNG, it had much more strategy in how you play and approach your opponents, and this would do well if it had potential for online modes in the modern era now. It was not the level of cheating you would get out of Forbidden Memories' enemy designs, and it certainly was not counting on how many combinations you could make in a turn just to have a powerhouse that'd get destroyed on the next turn either.
So those of you who have voted for Forbidden Memories? Try to not let your trauma get to you and vote for this. Either instead of FM or as well as. Because you would have much more fun playing this, I promise.
Thank you for coming to my TED talk.
