Story:Valkyrie Profile 2: Silmeria is the second installment of the Valkyrie Profile series.
Taking place hundreds of years before the original game, the story revolves around two characters living the same body, named Silmeria and Alicia. Together, the two characters work to stop a catastrophe that could cause war between the people and the gods. The game received generally positive reviews, citing its similarity to the original Valkyrie Profile game and its beautiful graphics, but had a convoluted interface and a high degree of difficulty. This game is timeless and there are so many small details that often get overlooked. This is a game for people who want to indulge in character management with combat that rivals even the most technical of action games with so many layers to it that it's hard to describe.
There really isn't another game like it, this game blends in both action and strategy perfectly with countless different playstyles available to keep it fresh.
The game isn't even long either but has plenty of replay value as there are a ton of characters to find and you can't get all of them on a single playthrough.
There's also a bonus dungeon which has a lot of content in it too.
All the characters have a ton of voice lines in battle and that's before we even talk about the story.
This game is both an artistic and mechanical masterpiece and absolutely must be preserved for future generations.
I only just started playing this game last month, but I really like the lighting and graphics in this game especially when you consider how old this game is. I also like the way the Skill system works although it can be tedious to have to constantly switch out equipment every-so-often. The combat is challenging especially against bosses because they can oftentimes KO your entire party in a single round so you could try to separate team members and have the boss attack multiple people from different locations. I regret getting into the Valkyrie Profile franchise so late even though I knew about the franchise for years. I want this game on GOG because although it's an old game I feel it is still worth a playthrough and would like to get more people into the franchise.
Not having a version of this game for the current generation was one of the biggest mistakes in gaming history!! Square Enix made a mistake by not bringing the same proposal from the PS2, they should have listened more to their old customers! This game made a lot of my friends like RPGs, mainly because of its battle system, it had all the charm and challenge of what could happen...
Back then Square Enix actually made good RPGs. Extremely underrated, very fun and unique type of combat and a serious story. This beautiful game, forgotten in history thanks to PS hoarding greed deserves a PC port.

The kind of gameplay the Valkyrie Profile series has to propose perfectly suited me.
I bloqued at a point in the first one (Valkyrie Profile: Lenneth), get bored and never finished it.
The latest entry in the series (Valkyrie Elysium) disapointed me.
I've searched many games using the same type of gameplay but (except from Indivisible which is one of my favorite games of all time) I've never found a game proposing such a peculiar and magical ambiance than Valkyrie Profile 2: Silmeria.
I had never the occasion to finish this one and would be happy to do so.
Certainly ONE of the best game, timeless, beautiful, one of the best looking game ever, it don't get aged, perfect soundtrack, unique battle system, no really game like it, the replay is like infinite, unique characters, juste preserve this masterpiece

so immersive in his way, the sounds and musics travel me, the graphics are more beautiful than so much recent games and not only for the retro way, just look all the details, the reflections, the movements, this fluidity like few games are able to.
