Story:Tux Racer is a 2000 open-source winter sports racing video game starring the Linux mascot, Tux the penguin. It was originally developed by Jasmin Patry as a computer graphics project in a Canadian university.

May not be the greatest game by any means but Tux Racer was one of the few open-source Linux games you would find readily available on most distros. This was also a benchmark for how well OpenGL applications would run under Linux at a time where no one dreamt at playing big Windows games. It is also ported to Windows, but it didn't make any impact there. I remember it being pretty hard.
