Four Swords Adventures was one of the most unique experiments in Zelda history. Instead of a solitary quest, it asked players to link their Game Boy Advances to the GameCube and dive into a cooperative adventure where four Links worked together to solve puzzles, battle enemies, and explore dungeons.
It wasn’t just a multiplayer gimmick — the game blended classic top-down Zelda action with teamwork-driven mechanics that made every stage feel dynamic. Players could split up to explore different parts of a dungeon, reunite for epic boss fights, or even compete for Force Gems when cooperation gave way to mischief.
But despite its creativity, the setup was notoriously difficult. You needed multiple GBAs, link cables, and the console itself just to experience it the way it was intended. Because of this, many fans never had the chance to play Four Swords Adventures at its full potential.
Bringing it to modern platforms would finally make this overlooked Zelda title accessible. Whether enjoyed solo or with friends online, Four Swords Adventures deserves preservation — it’s a reminder that even the most legendary franchises aren’t afraid to take bold risks.
