Tenchu Z, while not officially related to Sekiro, is basically a proto-spiritual-predecessor to that game, and I love it! The fact that I could create a Ninja Duo to do Mission-styled levels was amazing, and I'm still upset that it's locked to the Xbox 360 to this day! Please make this happen, GOG! You will have an instant "Shut up and take my money!" situation with me if you do!
This is the only title I've played out of the franchise so far; it holds pretty well to this day personally and I actually didn't know there were more titles until I found out about them online and I thought that was awesome, I'd be over the moon if this title and the rest of them were released on GOG because I want to give the other titles a crack for sure.
Got it on xbox 360 recently. Having played the entire Tenchu series on ps1/ps2, this title looked dreamlike. Never have I seen so many mechanics that perfectly fit the ninja fantasy. It was a pretty difficult find at the time, so I settled for other stealth titles that were equally as wonderful, like Splinter Cell & MGS. Having played it now, I can say it is hands down a gem! We should all be able to play this game for the sake of preservation and keeping the fanbase alive.
I remember playing this on the 360 with a friend of mine some amazing times we had trying to make sure our characters didnt die was fun plus the combat was clunky but always enjoyable.
I have play countless hours of this game on the Xbox 360. After it released I stayed up late with one of my D&D buddies why too often. Sadly he took his own life and this game means a lot to me because of this. It would be great to be able to revisit this game and relive the stories we created while playing together.
ah god, where to begin. I was a wee lad, watching my dad play this game on Playstation, eventually convinced him to let me play, absolutely loved it. A bit later in life I got my hands on this, (xbox 360 maybe? Can't remember) I would spend hours upon hours, listening to disturbed, remembering where items, enemies, their routes were. I'd be very sad if this game dropped out of my life completely.
It may not be as cool and stylish as Tenchu 3 or Kurenai... but gameplay wise is second to none. The amount of skills, tools and customisation is second to none ( as far as Tenchu series is concerned ). Adding Co Op was a nice touch and stealth killing bosses.
Currently you can play this game on Xenia or on original Xbox 360. Nothing would make me happier to see Tenchu Z brought to PC. Modding would add a cherry on the top.

A handful of colonists struck out on their own to begin anew - far away from the Earth and its turmoil. Several ships were launched with enough equipment and supplies to give the hundreds onboard a fighting chance - but since the area around far-off Sirius had never been surveyed, no one really knew what to expect. What they found was a new frontier of free-flowing natural resources, unexplored territories, great wonders and lurking dangers. Each ship, representing the clusters of people and their earthly place of origin, settled into different parts of the galaxy pre-selected by their ship-board computer to give them the best chance of survival.
Life was hard in the beginning, but over the 800 years the different colonies prospered and expanded their territories, claiming more and more systems for their own. Survival and propagation eventually led to growth and profit as each of the colonies developed specialties and fostered commerce. As the colonies grew and time passed their connections with their roots on Earth dwindled and they lost their memories of the conflicts of the past. Soon their attention was dominated by new, more immediate conflicts. Feelings of lost ancestral connection spurred anachronism in the look of the great cities, and created a somewhat distorted image of each colony's cultural heritage. In the ever-expanding outer edge of the territories, frontier lawlessness prevailed.
The Houses: Each shipboard colony that left Earth carried some memory of its origins in its name. The Liberty carried Americans, The Bretonia flew from The United Kingdom and surrounding territory, The Kusari from Asia, and the Rheinland launched with Germanic cargo.
As each ship settled and colonies began to expand, they knew little about each other and their advancing development. Finally, little by little, the individual colonies found each other and began to set up trade routes to link their systems for commerce and solidarity.
Today, with each colony firmly rooted in its respective corner of the galaxy, the colonies rely heavily on each other for trade and industry but also compete for resources and new territories in the Border Worlds. The colonies mandate member governments in "The New Alliance" within the Sirius sector. To control conflicts, each colony has forged alliances and treaties with others as they have grown. Competition remains fierce, however. Struggles rage for supremacy in business, commerce, resources, power and control.
