I remember. Before I could actually play this game, I had to enable EMS memory in DOS on my 386 and the Memmaker, because it didn't run with XMS. Back then, every KB counted. So I played it without sound. Unthinkable today... :D The game itself was very extensive. I remember that my favorite thing was building my own battles with the built-in editor. I loved the "cockpit perspective" and the detailed ship models. Even small details like the shark that appears when a ship sinks. It's a shame there isn't a game like that anymore. So it's a sim with direct control. Since there's 1942 The Pacific Air War on GOG, this game should definitely be added. I had a lot of fun with the game.
