Grew up with this game. At school I would spend all my free time reading over the game booklet. Which led to us using the limited warrenty to replace our CD-ROM when it started to malfunction. The mechanics were always clunky, but I had a lot of fun with the story and the challenge. I still go through way too much effort to make this thing work on modern systems. Even playing with hex editors and the like to make it at least semi-functional. It would be great to have unfettered access to the game in the future. I'm sure I'll spend another chunk of my life playing through it again. And maybe finally try my hand at the multi-player functionality.

When the mission begins the mission name always gave a clew as to what the hell was about to happen much like in the shows. So when I played 'the mask slips' as the Federation (first time like ever playing the mission) I knew this was going to go all so much wrong, built my colony base with all the crossfire zones I could and photon launchers set up to force the attackers out of thier hidy spots...that mission put me on edge oh so much.

My beloved Star Trek New Worlds. It was one of the first Games i've bought from my own earned Money for my second own Computer i was building in 2003. The last Time i've had played this Game was in 2007 or 2008 before i've build my 3rd Computer and changed from Windows Xp to Windows Vista. Since than the Game didnt start anymore and even today in the Modder-Community i dont find anythings what can let my old Game keep on running on modern Hardware. I really would like to play my old Game again and if GOG cant make it possible so who else?
The only one of its kind. I had to have it when two trailers started after installing Star Trek Starfleet Command 1. Klingon Academy (GOG, we absolutely need this in our program) and New Worlds. Back then the advertising was called Star Trek meets Star Craft. Unfortunately the controls were extremely imprecise. The camera didn't work very well. The overview was difficult and the AI... yeah. The game needed more love and development. The difficulty level was high. The cinematic sequences were state of the art. The soundtrack was cinematic. The game fit perfectly with the Kirk crew's films. The setting and the design of all the models was terrific. Similar to Starfleet Command, they dared to try something new in the Lost era. I've often thought to myself, with all the modders on the planet, why isn't there anyone who takes a well-known, moddable strategy game and ports New Worlds into it? Company of Heroes with a NewWorlds mod. I'd be there in a heartbeat. Because New Worlds doesn't have any two-legged ground troops. Only tanks and shuttles that transport crews into buildings. The game has potential, and I'd love to be able to play it again. I still have my CD, but nothing happens under Windows. Despite everything, I had a lot of fun with the game. Destroying the base with a Bird of Prey. I still remember Interplay creating a website specifically for it. There, you could listen to logbooks; they were on the same level as the in-game dialogue. A little character picture and text to go with it. That was a backstory. Very exciting.
This one probably won't get much love, but for me it is pure nostalgy. First of all, I am a huge Star Trek fan, so as a teenageer this game was an obvious choice. I actually got it in a second hand shop :-) It was not an easy game, but for the sake of Star Trek, I really tried. Of course, it won't win many prices for its game mechanics (some of them were bad, like really, really bad), but I'd still enjoy another go at it and actually experience the whole campaign.

True Star Trek RTS - one of a kind. Was too young to fully understand. Now I want the chance to fully playout the game. The depth in exploring the map, scanning new alien tech, cloaked tanks and complex resource gathering. Whut.. is that a crashed Federation ship? Amazing.

Black & White 2
Black & White 2In the game, the player takes the role of a god called from the void (nothingness) to help those who invoked them. However, the player is not an omnipotent style god, but rather a god who rises and falls with his believers and the player must help develop their nature according to their good or evil desires. The player also has a creature, their physical representation in the world, which takes the form of an anthropomorphic ape, lion, wolf, turtle, cow, or tiger. Its physical manifestation can grow to an immense size, and adopt a good or evil persona separate of the player's. They develop their character as the player rewards or punishes their actions. In addition to the god simulation and city-building elements introduced in the original Black & White, Black & White 2 also features elements of real-time strategy gameplay, with the addition of controllable warfare and fighting units.

As the player progresses, his troops are equipped with weapons from "crysknives" to atomics, tap into Paul's latent psychic powers, and get acquainted with such characters from the book as Chani and Liet-Kynes.
