Star Trek: TNG had made me a sci-fi fan, and this game provided the unique idea of existing in relative peace while engaging in business. Unfortunately, I was never able to actually win a game. It would take a great many years before I really started to understand economics and business. So I would largely stumble my way through playing this. The cutscenes of your office manager added a nice bit of humanity to it, reminding me that this was not just about shuffling numbers around, but it was a communal effort of *people.* The fact that I could never win a game due to my ignorance makes this a challenge I have yet to conquer.
This was also a game that my father owned, and I'd only be able to play it on his machine. I didn't have a good relationship with him, but I'd like to hold on to what good memories I have of him.
