This was a bizarre late entry from the world of Myst clones. Got Game Entertainment felt like a blip on the radar in retrospect, before almighty Steam (And GOG, of course. lol) came in and knocked over the entire chess board with games, you download off the internet. But for a time, we still had physical releases to things.
Echoing what @FallingBright said, this really is a 'niche cornerstone' of sorts. If you were really into Myst, you would be playing this one, without question, along with the multiple sequels that came out, after this. (I know. I'm stunned to realize they made 4 of these games too.) And for what it is, it's an enjoyable experience, if not a little chaotic and random in it's layout. I remember getting lost within the winding maze of it's environments. Sometimes, you'd go from one end of the world to another and have to solve different things in sequential order.
Most would consider this type of gameplay tedious. But it was a challenge one had to overcome, and you were either all about the challenge or not. For me it was great, even if absolutely NOTHING about the world made any sense to me! The entire world seemingly existed for the sole purpose of having puzzles! And for me, that was fine. But something about that fact kinda makes me laugh. lol
And it's sad to realize they really don't make games like this anymore! So I'd like to see this get a re-release, just for the purposes of preserving this oddball snapshot in time.
