This game is a product of a different time, an attempt to update an older game formula (combat racing) from a classic SNES game (Rock N' Roll Racing) to the then modern era. If for nothing else, the brilliant idea of having commercials for each of the cars the player can buy deserves archiving. The fact it's final boss is an actual death match, the presentation of characters so outrageous that they should be a joke but are taken deadly seriously. The soundtrack of utterly obscure bands and attempt to push into edgy sci-fi with it all... Red Asphalt is, like Omega Boost, a game that should be preserved to inspire someone to try something equally crazy in the future. GOG are the only ones that might pull it off.
