Save for a rare demo, this game never got the PC release it deserved. There are other spiritual successors, but it would be awesome to have an official arcade perfect ('plus', i.e. high res etc.) version to play, with controls adjusted for modern gamepads, I'd buy it instantly!
Just watching a few mins of that video brought it all back... the manic commentary, the sweeping, swooping track design (Rage Racer took heavily from this aspect), and that unmistakable happy hardcore dance music soundtrack.
The only thing is a 'direct port' (the only current option) isn't as good, since the gameplay is clearly setup for a wheel and pedals situation. But with a little bit of adjustment, this could be an amazing debut for an arcade game that influenced so many other Ridge Racer games, but never got it's own release. Also, it would be a wonderful bit of arcade history brought into the new age.
I won't claim I know how popular this would be, but you have an instant sale if it does get released right here. You can quote me on it! O_O
