I actually discovered this game quite "late" by using emulators, and I had a blast feeling like I've gone back quite some years, to the good and simple times. The aesthetic and music of this game is amazing and unique, full of energy and confident on what it wants to show. It had quite the impact on me because of it's design choices. Its. So. Stylish!

This game has the magic, so many other racers, especially today, lack. the magic of just firing up the game and cruising along with that insanely good music. its also so easy to get into it, but at the same time hard to master. you have two types of cars, one that goes into a drifting mode once you let go of the gas and then press the gas pedals again (or you press the breaks) and one that doesnt drift at all and instead does sharp corners when you break. the further you come in a tournament the beefier the cars get you can drive. the showcase of a new car is still one of the coolest things ever among racing games! the story has this casual sillyness that may remind you of the goofyness resident evil 1 had. it's simplistic yet very charming. the UI, especially the menu UI, is still one of the freaking best you will experience, it has that experimental futuristic design to it that makes navigating a unique experience (similar to when starting up the PS1 and you get that alien sound startup that gives you that tingly feeling). is it the perfect racing game? no. it lacks customization on what car i can choose once i can upgrade (it's based on the place you drove last races), there are no "famous" cpu drivers or anything, heck your own co driver doesn't matter either. and the tournament is built illogically in terms of what places you have to reach in order to move further. but if you take it for what it is, a cruiser racer, you will be in for a blast where only maybe games like NFS III hot pursuit or burnout 3 can come close to it. this game already works pretty well on mednafen with a PSX copy, but it would be amazing to get a PC port on GOG with better graphical improvements, as the PSX version is graphically quite limited after all.

I love the whole Ridge Racer series, but this one was my favorite. The opening was awesome, it looked like something way ahead of it's time. The game itself was so much fun, I played it to the limit and I remember the music, the tracks and the gameplay like it was yesterday. I miss ridge racer series and games that look like it, fun racing games, actually really fun games. Please bring it back!

It was my first game to play, my uncle and my brother were the pillars of being a fan of this saga. My journey through this saga has been quite satisfactory. Being able to be a fan of racing games and being a fan of Reiko Nagase, a character that made me very happy in each saga until it seems that NAMCO is starting to forget her. My hope is with you, greetings.
It was definitely my favorite racing game from ps1 era. I had a original CD that unfortunatly got damaged in a flood. This game has one of the best soundtracks for ps1 in my opinion, I listen to the musics from it all the time.

Need for Speed: Underground 2
Need for Speed: Underground 2Need For Speed Underground 2 takes place in Bayview after the events of Need for Speed: Underground. The prologue begins with the player driving in a Nissan Skyline R34 in Olympic City (though the racing scenes are actually in Bayview), the setting of NFS:UG. He then receives a race challenge from a rather ominous personality who offers him a spot on his crew, but "won't take 'no' for an answer." The player races off — despite Samantha's warnings — only to be ambushed by a mysterious driver in a rage that totals his Skyline. The driver, who has a unique scythe tattoo, makes a call confirming the accident, and the flashback fades out.
