If you know the history of this game, you know that the port of the game that is re-released is paramount. I can highly recommend of course the original Apple II version, as well as the DOS port, the Sega CD port, and the SNES port (which acts as a pseudo-sequel). There is an excellent video called Stumbling through Prince of Persia on Almost Everything, that covers in-depth the relevant versions of the game.

Damn...my 386 PC was constantly on because of this one :) I think I owned a full game and me and my brothers and I were constantly trying to make a perfect run. I remember one wizard or something was really annoying :)

It'll be a golden opportunity to not only re-release the original game on GOG, but to also include a fully fledged version of the level editor that Jordan Mechner had to leave on the cutting room floor.

The first video game I played on my father's old PC. I remember I was the first one to finish that game at home because my father always ran out of time or he was defeated by the shadow of the prince. I consider it as one of the best platform games ever and although it is easy to emulate it would be great to recover it in an official way with a compilation that has the different versions of this game. The classic apple version, the DOS version, the Sega CD version, the spectacular SNES version with new levels and of course the 1992 MAC version which is graphically the most beautiful. Even though I consider it inferior, the Xbox Live Arcade version would be great to get it back.
This needs to be on PC period. Yet another game I enjoyed for hours on end during sleepovers on my friend's Commodore. I've never really played the remakes and such as I've just wanted to play this version on PC again.

This was the first game that I ever played on a PC . When I was only 3 years old (1999) my unlce introduced me to computer games. I used to play this every day until I got my first playstation (playstation2) with my brand new and first PS2 game : Prince of Persia :The Sands of Time .... I wish I can play the original Prince of Persia ''remastered'' one day ... :3
It's hard to imagine how small and modest this series of games started out. You only have an hour to find your way around a maze of dungeons and palaces, the enemies are badass, the attacks are terrifying. A soulslike before there was dark souls.

The old Prince of Persia. I loved that Game in my Childhood and played it the very first Time so in 1991 / 1992 on my Fathers old Intel 486. And i still got my old CD Version of PoP 1 & PoP 2 in the double Collection. But sadly because of modern OS and Hardware it is very difficult to let these old Games running on it. So please GOG make it possible to let me play my old Gems again and to complete the Prince of Persia Francise on the Store.
This was one of the first games I ever played as a kid. I remeber having to talk to a friend at school to find out how to pic up the sword, but even running and jumping was fun! I never finished the game without cheating, but I'd love to go back and try now. It would be great if this was available on GoG.
