Nier Replicant/Gestalt is one of my favorite games of all time. It's one of the few games to ever make me cry. I'd love if the Gestalt version and father Nier's character could still be experienced by new players
While the RepliCant version of NieR is playable on PCs via the ver.1.22474487139... remaster, the Gestalt version is locked to the PS3 and X360. Players of the remastered RepliCant version only see this version of Nier in a side-mode that was originally DLC. It'd also let more people experience what NieR was like in its original state, as opposed to its remastered state.

Would love to immortalize Papa NieR as he is my preferred version although it's not canon. Definitely not as playable as it's remake, but still a solid gem nontheless. Definitely my favorite game in the franchise next to Drakengard 3.

One of the last true reasons for me to still have my 360. The Gestalt version never got the remake it deserved, so at the very least it should be preserved on PC.
This is one of my favorite games of all time. A beautifully written game, with excellent characters. Music that will stick with you for the rest of your life. It deserves to be preserved and remembered, not replaced by a subpar remake.
My first experience with this game was Gestalt with "papa Nier" on PS3. I loved it and I'm afraid this version has been abandoned for good. So I really wish it could be published (and saved) on GoG, for lack of a remake or remaster.
the other side of the story. the side that never should've existed. but it did, and it is an extremely unique take on the story. father Nier can be argued that he doesn't fit the story whatsoever because this story was made around the brother, and yes you would be right. he feels out of place with the cast especially with Kaine and Emil and considering how old they are, and all the sibling motifs around the game what with Devola and Popola, Gideon and Jakob, etc. that being said, you cant help but love father Nier, there is something about a man who has been through so much throughout his whole life, his wife gone and only his daughter to protect, the "only sane guy" in his crew so to speak. it's such a unique perspective on the game that i cant help but admire. i still heavily prefer brother Nier for many reasons, but i would love to see this version of the game (and also the PS3 version of RepliCant) on PC as every single version of this masterpiece of a game is worth playing and have their own merits. a slim chance, but i still hope it happens nonetheless. "It's like I just found something special. Something very special."

NieR/Gestalt is the version that myself in the west got chance to play. Yes, the story was written more for brother > father however It felt a slight bit more real having a father protagonist. Another reason I'd love to preserve this version is maybe a hot take but the original OST, some songs just hit better/harder in this version, I'm looking at you E/S (if you know, you know).
For a lot of people this "Gestalt" version of Nier, with the father character, is their original experience. We're also the people who bought, played, supported, and told others about this title back when the internet & gaming community at large couldn't care less about its existence. We are the reason Automata even exists; like it or not, without father Nier, this franchise would be dead in the water. This version of Nier absolutely deserves preservation. I've played the original Replicant version of Nier; and, while it is still the same game at its core, it's fundamentally different with the brother character protagonist. Myself and many others identify more with the father character; we find that it suits the story better, and Jamieson Price's performance as father Nier is exceptional. The Replicant remaster also changed the way the characters look, retconning Kaine's appearance into an inferior-looking 2B look-alike, ruining her characterization as a tough, sexy badass by giving her an unfitting doll-like face, turning her into another unimaginative waifu-bait character rather than preserving her original unique juxtaposition of being somewhat gruff-looking yet alluring and sexy by the way of her dress. The people responsible for Kaine's visual redesign in the remaster lack a fundamental understanding of what originally made the character appealing and amass so many fans. I'm ultimately fine with various versions of Nier existing—the franchise has been this way since its very inception—and people can and should play their preferred version without judgement. But this franchise simply wouldn't exist as it is today without this version of Nier; it absolutely fits GOG's mission and deserves to be preserved in its original form. I hope someday we can see this version of Nier get the respect and recognition that it deserves for kick-starting this franchise in the west, rather than having it be doomed to PS3 and Xbox 360 oblivion for all time.

Freelancer
FreelancerEight hundred years prior to the start of our story, bitter conflict divided all of mankind. A handful of colonists struck out on their own to begin anew - far away from the Earth and its turmoil. Several ships were launched with enough equipment and supplies to give the hundreds onboard a fighting chance - but since the area around far-off Sirius had never been surveyed, no one really knew what to expect. What they found was a new frontier of free-flowing natural resources, unexplored territories, great wonders and lurking dangers. Each ship, representing the clusters of people and their earthly place of origin, settled into different parts of the galaxy pre-selected by their ship-board computer to give them the best chance of survival. Life was hard in the beginning, but over the 800 years the different colonies prospered and expanded their territories, claiming more and more systems for their own. Survival and propagation eventually led to growth and profit as each of the colonies developed specialties and fostered commerce. As the colonies grew and time passed their connections with their roots on Earth dwindled and they lost their memories of the conflicts of the past. Soon their attention was dominated by new, more immediate conflicts. Feelings of lost ancestral connection spurred anachronism in the look of the great cities, and created a somewhat distorted image of each colony's cultural heritage. In the ever-expanding outer edge of the territories, frontier lawlessness prevailed. The Houses: Each shipboard colony that left Earth carried some memory of its origins in its name. The Liberty carried Americans, The Bretonia flew from The United Kingdom and surrounding territory, The Kusari from Asia, and the Rheinland launched with Germanic cargo. As each ship settled and colonies began to expand, they knew little about each other and their advancing development. Finally, little by little, the individual colonies found each other and began to set up trade routes to link their systems for commerce and solidarity. Today, with each colony firmly rooted in its respective corner of the galaxy, the colonies rely heavily on each other for trade and industry but also compete for resources and new territories in the Border Worlds. The colonies mandate member governments in "The New Alliance" within the Sirius sector. To control conflicts, each colony has forged alliances and treaties with others as they have grown. Competition remains fierce, however. Struggles rage for supremacy in business, commerce, resources, power and control. There can be tenuous peace between colonies' political agendas, but the grabs for holdings constantly unsettle the volatile frontier.

Black & White 2
Black & White 2In the game, the player takes the role of a god called from the void (nothingness) to help those who invoked them. However, the player is not an omnipotent style god, but rather a god who rises and falls with his believers and the player must help develop their nature according to their good or evil desires. The player also has a creature, their physical representation in the world, which takes the form of an anthropomorphic ape, lion, wolf, turtle, cow, or tiger. Its physical manifestation can grow to an immense size, and adopt a good or evil persona separate of the player's. They develop their character as the player rewards or punishes their actions. In addition to the god simulation and city-building elements introduced in the original Black & White, Black & White 2 also features elements of real-time strategy gameplay, with the addition of controllable warfare and fighting units.
