I recently got to play this (and several other games in the Nancy Drew series). I must say, basically all the ones I tried are fun! Even as someone who didn't grow up with these, the games provide a lot of entertainment, if you are fan of point & click adventures like these.
Some of the puzzles are honestly brilliant, although the most memorable thing to me are the phone calls, weirdly enough: your friends in the game are almost always witty and charming, but most importantly they are humorous. They give you stuff to think about while providing comedy and commentary, in a way you don't see very often in games.
For this specific game, my best memory is simply me painstakingly solving all the puzzles, only to stumble right at the end by confusing my left and right side leaving the culprit free to escape (thankfully, the game allows you to restart from before a crucial mistake), made even more annoying/funny by the fact that I was anticipating the right solution from the very start of the game!
The atmosphere is very on point, and there is a certain "nostalgia factor" even if you didn't play these before, thanks to the way the games are presented and played. Honestly speaking, I got hooked, and I plan to buy the entire series. I would appreciate having these on GOG, though, since Her Interactive's website has some strict limitations for how long you can download the game after purchase (they are, however, DRM-free).
