My cousins had this game. Whenever my family would visit them( I’d always want to play this game. Eventually my parents got me a copy, and I spent so much time playing it. It’s very nostalgic for me, and I’d love to be able to properly play it again one day!
This game influenced my love for mechs and any game, such as Mech Warrior, Armored Core, Gundams, Xenosaga, and Command and Conquer. I would love to step inside my old mechs and battle again!
Earthsiege was my introduction into the Mech genre of games! I never beat the game and I would love another shot at it! This game should definitely be added to the GOG catalog!
My dad picked this up for us and he had an old 486 processer. My brother had a pentium 1 and this game was so cool back then! Then my dad who knew very little about computers got the thing to work on his old computer; and better than my brother’s machine :) That of course meant he challenge us to a match where internet games and lan lines were guaranteed to have you fighting before the next Christmas! Well, his machine lagged and we blew up his mechs. He was so angry and it was so funny! It was then I found out that compatibltly could be worked around and games could be enjoyed even on lower systems :) and here is GOG keeping that alive! May they bring all our beloved games back that we hold dear! May we be able to share them with the generations and never forget the games that inspire us :) even if this game doesn’t get added I’m happy to tell my story :)
Earthsiege 1 and 2 were the first Mecha simulators I played before going headlong into the Battletech Universe (Mechwarrior). ES 1 was gotten when my parents bought one of the "6 foot of CD-ROM" bundles back in the 90s.
I still have my CD-ROMs, but can no longer play them on modern systems.
These games have held such a special place that after Agents of Gaming closed up after the failed release of the Starsiege (Originally Earthsiege 3) table top miniatures game, I 3D modeled the original 12 Human HERCs and 3D printed them to add to my Battletech miniatures collection as special OpFOR.
