Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots

Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots (2008)

by Kojima Productions, Konami
Genres:Adventure, Shooter, Tactical
Themes:Action, Fantasy, Historical, Stealth, Survival
Game modes:Single player
Story:Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots is the final canonical Metal Gear game to feature Solid Snake as the main character. The gameplay of the previous games have been kept along with some new features, such as the ability to roll on your back and also to hide in bins scattered around the environment. Most of the story and the relationship between the characters are explained through cut-scenes with a considerable length, so knowledge of the prior games is recommended to fully understand the story. The game also features a complex multiplayer mode entitled Metal Gear Online with some original missions based on the stealth aspects of the single-player games.Show more

I remembered playing this game when I was in grade school with my brother and father who have since passed away. This game brings back so many memories. Watching them play this game and eventually playing with them is apart of my earliest memories and is by far one of my fondest. I’d give anything to be a little kid playing with them again.

Metal Gear Solid 4 was a truly fantastic game. It's a huge deal when it ever ports to other platforms. This is easily one of the absolute greatest Metal Gear games ever made!!! This felt like the perfect conclusion to Solid Snake. They really went big with everything. Expect a long game even if you're skipping majority of the cut scenes. The cut scenes are all well made. Some even consider this more of a great movie than an game. In every possible way it's mind blowing awesomeness. So packed with content to keep you busy for hours. I really know if this were to be on GOG. People going to drop everything to buy it like no tomorrow. Metal Gear Solid 4 was among the last great Metal Gear games. It's a real shame because it was an PS3 exclusive. A lot of people missed out playing such a great game. Easily among the greatest stealth games ever made!!!

I loved to rexpirience that beautiful ending of the Metal Gear series. The music, the Boss Fights... everything was awesome. It's really a shame that the only way to experience it right now if you don't own a PS3 it's emulating it, which isn't perfect unfortunately.

The Metal Gear Solid Saga wouldn't feel completed and full on GOG without the addition of the Final Chapter and Definitive Experience of Solid Snake's ultimate mission as seen and playable in Guns of the Patriots.
A true experience that is not available outside PlayStation. Graphics and story hold up incredibly well, and the Kojima style is super present in this title. A true gem worth saving.

I beat MSG 1, 2, and 3 when I had the opportunity to play this one I had to sell my PS3. Who would've thought you wouldn't be able to play this game again unless you emulated it or had a PS3 copy lying around?

Great finale to the one of the best game seriess of all time. Unforgattable story, gameplay etc. . Dont let please this game gem let lost in the time a on old platform like playstaiton 3. i bet there is big audience who bought this game in 2025 but jsut praying for realese on modern devices
Metal Gear Solid 4 is the purest definition of a "Movie Game" to date, as Telltale games have attempted to be interactive cinematics, but Metal Gear Solid 4 has a distinct flare to its presentation, interactivity, and still manages to be a good game as well (in other words, even if you skip all the cutscenes, the game itself is still very fun and high quality). This technical, cinematic masterpiece has been trapped on Playstation 3 since it first released on it back in 2008, and with the Metal Gear Solid series making an exciting comeback recently, now is the best time to finally free Guns of The Patriots from its prison!

Originally intended to be the last Metal Gear Solid game and the end of Solid Snake's story. Bittersweet, a little forced but a lot of nostalgia. So many returning faces. Still won't beat Metal Gear Solid for pure fun, or the technical marvel that was Phantom Pain. And, honestly, I would have loved it more if Solid Snake got a classic happy ending too. Old Snake. Man, Hideo Kojima wanted to make it clear he did not want to continue this story.
i think this game its a great game because its the last mission of solid snake and its my favorite metal gear and if GOG add this game at the platform, many gamers can play this masterpiece, please set free this game from the PS3, we want this game, please!

Freelancer
FreelancerEight hundred years prior to the start of our story, bitter conflict divided all of mankind. A handful of colonists struck out on their own to begin anew - far away from the Earth and its turmoil. Several ships were launched with enough equipment and supplies to give the hundreds onboard a fighting chance - but since the area around far-off Sirius had never been surveyed, no one really knew what to expect. What they found was a new frontier of free-flowing natural resources, unexplored territories, great wonders and lurking dangers. Each ship, representing the clusters of people and their earthly place of origin, settled into different parts of the galaxy pre-selected by their ship-board computer to give them the best chance of survival. Life was hard in the beginning, but over the 800 years the different colonies prospered and expanded their territories, claiming more and more systems for their own. Survival and propagation eventually led to growth and profit as each of the colonies developed specialties and fostered commerce. As the colonies grew and time passed their connections with their roots on Earth dwindled and they lost their memories of the conflicts of the past. Soon their attention was dominated by new, more immediate conflicts. Feelings of lost ancestral connection spurred anachronism in the look of the great cities, and created a somewhat distorted image of each colony's cultural heritage. In the ever-expanding outer edge of the territories, frontier lawlessness prevailed. The Houses: Each shipboard colony that left Earth carried some memory of its origins in its name. The Liberty carried Americans, The Bretonia flew from The United Kingdom and surrounding territory, The Kusari from Asia, and the Rheinland launched with Germanic cargo. As each ship settled and colonies began to expand, they knew little about each other and their advancing development. Finally, little by little, the individual colonies found each other and began to set up trade routes to link their systems for commerce and solidarity. Today, with each colony firmly rooted in its respective corner of the galaxy, the colonies rely heavily on each other for trade and industry but also compete for resources and new territories in the Border Worlds. The colonies mandate member governments in "The New Alliance" within the Sirius sector. To control conflicts, each colony has forged alliances and treaties with others as they have grown. Competition remains fierce, however. Struggles rage for supremacy in business, commerce, resources, power and control. There can be tenuous peace between colonies' political agendas, but the grabs for holdings constantly unsettle the volatile frontier.

Muramasa: The Demon Blade
Muramasa: The Demon BladeBased on ancient Japanese lore, Murumasa: The Demon Blade plunges players into the mystical Genroku era, ruled by the skilled shogun Tsunayoshi Tokogawa. But this culture is threatened; Tokugawa's thirst for power leads to a conflict over the enormously powerful, though cursed, Demon Blades. Used in hatred, drenched in blood, the cursed blades condemn those who use them to tragedy, madness, and untimely deaths. As chaos spreads, denizens from the netherworld breach their realm as these malevolent swords summon evil spirits -- and the Dragon and Demon Gods as well. Featuring hand-drawn 2D art reflecting the heritage and tone of the storyline, Muramasa: The Demon Blade transports players into a little known mythology, envisioned by the creators of the critically acclaimed Odin Sphere. Players take on the role of a male ninja or female kunoichi, utilizing their ninja prowess to traverse the clever side-scrolling levels that feature vertical progression as well as the traditional horizontal stage advancement.
