Story:Mafia: The Old Country is an action-adventure game part of the Mafia series. It is a prequel to the first Mafia game. The game lets players descend into Sicily's criminal underworld during the 1900s.
Mafia: The Old Country is the fifth title in the series (or fourth, if not counting Mafia Classic and its remake Mafia: Definitive Edition as separate entries), and is due for release on 8th of August 2025.
At the time of writing, Mafia: The Old Country is set to launch with Denuvo with an "Internet connection required to redeem bonus content". It's worth noting that Mafia: Definitive Edition also launched with Denuvo, which was later removed.
All previous entries in the Mafia series have come to GOG DRM-free, so there's hope that the same will be true of this one, as well.
The first x2 Mafia games really blew me away with their storylines & characters being top notch. I played them quite late- the remasterd versions, but the game-mechanics still stood up well. I've heard that The Old Country is a return to the format that worked so well [Mafia 3 was more open-worldy, which I dig BUT the cinematic, story/character-driven is where the earlier Mafia games really shined]. I can't wait to play it & GOG is the only way I'll p[l]ay.
I hope that it WILL come to gog. If not I'm cracking it till it is available on gog, because I don't want Denovo in the game. Sadly Vito isn't in the game. Why did they cancel the nearly finished original Mafia III that followed the story of Mafia II.😭

Mafia games always have some of the best story-driven gameplay and cinematics, second to none, with an intriguing storyline as well. all around one of my favorite titles in single player games . \

I will not buy this game anywhere but GOG, so to the powers that be, the sooner it comes here, the more I will be willing to pay.

Bei GOG weis ich das es das Geld wert ist denn man zahlt und bekommt das Spiel und nicht nur eine Spiel-Erlaubnis. ich Hoffe Mafia erscheint auf GOG denn die Vorgänger waren toll und ich bin fester Überzeugung das dieser Teil genauso einen Suchtfaktor haben wird.

In the ever-expanding outer edge of the territories, frontier lawlessness prevailed.
The Houses: Each shipboard colony that left Earth carried some memory of its origins in its name. The Liberty carried Americans, The Bretonia flew from The United Kingdom and surrounding territory, The Kusari from Asia, and the Rheinland launched with Germanic cargo.
As each ship settled and colonies began to expand, they knew little about each other and their advancing development. Finally, little by little, the individual colonies found each other and began to set up trade routes to link their systems for commerce and solidarity.
Today, with each colony firmly rooted in its respective corner of the galaxy, the colonies rely heavily on each other for trade and industry but also compete for resources and new territories in the Border Worlds. The colonies mandate member governments in "The New Alliance" within the Sirius sector. To control conflicts, each colony has forged alliances and treaties with others as they have grown. Competition remains fierce, however. Struggles rage for supremacy in business, commerce, resources, power and control.
