Kaiser was an economic game set in the Middle Ages. I think there are several different versions. I played the DOS version back in the early 90s. I was too young to understand economics. What really grabbed me about the game was changing the dynamic empire map. Choosing Bohemia, declaring war on your neighbors, and riding your cavalry as far as possible to the other side of the country, and voila, your own country doubled in size. That's assuming you won the battle. I remember some people talking about Kaiser in the schoolyard; there was no comparable game. At least not in our schoolyard. :D
