Alongside NFS Carbon, this kickstarted my love for street racing games.
Juiced added a fresh take to street racers of the time. With a host of new mechanics like crew members, rival crews with a collection of set ups like pink slip races, exclusive races, placing bets against them. And going as far as the cars and garage go, you had a used car dealership, fine tuning, and even a Dyno. Races would have a stress (or "spook") meters on other drivers (including your crew) based on your skill. And damage, such as Blinking neon, nitrous leak and steering damage. @Goldenapple3's story do better justice to the mechanics this game introduced. But certainly ambitious for it's time
It wasn't perfect, sure. The chosen wheel-drive would highly impact drive style, sometimes to a heavy degree, characters were okay, and it was purely a pick up-put down game, no story, just 'calender race days'. But, it had a great variation for cars, and music. The host of new or unique mechanics were great, and in its own right, it did different.
I really hope it returns and preserves
