I enjoyed the war of the worlds book and audiobook when i was around 11 or 12, I listened to it so much my mum bought me this PC game from the white goods store she worked in for my birthday. Bombastic and unique soundtrack, i thought amazing graphics and such open and deep gameplay for its time.
Incredible soundtrack, challenging gameplay, definitely have to be strategic and memories of playing this with my dad as a child. One of the most underrated forgotten PS1 titles, simply adore this game.
It was my first game my first real-time strategy in later years I love it so much I actually went on eBay a physical copy but I cannot get into run on my newer Machine full love your money I've tried to numerous patches from the internet they all play for around three four five minutes I would love to bring this epic real-time strategy game back the PC version is much better than the PlayStation version so I would love them to bring back the PC version in all of its glory PS.

While very different from the RTS game I played on the PC, the Playstation version of this game was pretty neat too! I don't remember actually being any good at it as a child compared to the RTS and I would use the invulnerability cheat (that websites never told me what it did, they just said to enter in a code and it looked like my vehicles would have like 1HP but no, they were invulnerable) But I did enjoy the gameplay and the progression of story. Oh and of course the music. When you began most levels, it was very appropriate to have it begin with Spirit Of Man for the leadup then you switch to Eve Of War or let the soundtrack progress naturally because it's all good either way.

It was a great if a little bugged 4x style strategy game that was basically set in real-time where a thing took days to construct and move across the England map. You could fast-forward and the map would show all the movements and when things were constructed. Then you also had the battle where everything was polygon rendered, much like total annihilation. The music was the remixed dub version of the original 1978 album, and the graphics were all based on the original albums' artwork. There was even a little patch/program that expanded the game with scenario and mods. Unfortunately, it's a nightmare to get working on modern systems and is a shame that this one is 'lost' in time.
This was an awesome RTS strategy game that employed some elements that were ahead of its time, such as the combining 4x strategy, and planning with RTS battle elements. This combined with what is a pretty awesome soundtrack make this game timeless. With Jeff Wayne doing is live tour, and his musical still a major cultural hit I'm sure hat not only would I really love to see this on here, but many others would too.
I loved this game when it first came out. It introduced me to the haunting rock opera by Jeff Wayne on which it is based, and its gameplay, graphics and concepts are first rate. I went back to it a few years ago and found that it was nearly impossible to get running. I bought a new copy on ebay because I had lost it but even with all compatibility patches and tricks available it was impossible to get it completely operational, even with a virtual machine to run old windows versions. At best the game would run but without the music - and the music is an integral part of the game. But I soon lost the ability to run the game at all in a stable fashion. It is a perfect candidate for resuscitation and preservation by GOG but I read there may be a copyright issue where some of the rights may not be available. But I hope that can be solved -- the IP is well worth the investment because an indi studio could do an awesome remaster for current systems that would see very well. Please help!

Black & White 2
Black & White 2In the game, the player takes the role of a god called from the void (nothingness) to help those who invoked them. However, the player is not an omnipotent style god, but rather a god who rises and falls with his believers and the player must help develop their nature according to their good or evil desires. The player also has a creature, their physical representation in the world, which takes the form of an anthropomorphic ape, lion, wolf, turtle, cow, or tiger. Its physical manifestation can grow to an immense size, and adopt a good or evil persona separate of the player's. They develop their character as the player rewards or punishes their actions. In addition to the god simulation and city-building elements introduced in the original Black & White, Black & White 2 also features elements of real-time strategy gameplay, with the addition of controllable warfare and fighting units.

As the player progresses, his troops are equipped with weapons from "crysknives" to atomics, tap into Paul's latent psychic powers, and get acquainted with such characters from the book as Chani and Liet-Kynes.
