I have a few favorite games of all time and this one rates up there even though the gamecube didnt do as well as it should this game was one fo the gamecubes little known gems this game was kinda revolutionary for its time the way it brought the story this game was like Resident evil ETC in the way you would woner the environement solving puzzles to progress in the game a friend intoduced this game to me many years ago i still have the guide book for this that i prob got from game or somewhere similar back in the day
Synopsis to the game
you start as a roman centurion sent by the emperor to Locate an item as u play through the intro you solves puzzles and fight enemys until you come to a room and have to pick from 1 of 3 artifacts each artifact represents a old god Xel'lotath,Chuturgha,Ulyoth once you do this will effect the storyline and become who you will be aginst as Alex
Alex is your main charactor in this story apon finding out your granfather has been murdered and the police has no clue you search the mansion searching for clues eventually you find the tomb of Eternal darkness this book Alex will read from and collect new pages as you progrss in the story each chapter/page you find you take on the pasona of that charactor solving puzzles learning spells that will help you progress the story once the chapter is finished to take over again as Alex and you will retain all learned spells ETC from that chapter that alex can use to get further into the mansion the main combat mechanic in this game is you have a health pool magic pool and sanity pool and the monsters u fight will drain your sanity the more sanity loss the more the game will play with you with effects like "Screen tilt, Blood dripping down the screen,your charactor growing small or large,you charactor suddenly having it head cut off or a screen popping up saying you save is corrupted and will be deleted then all will return to nornal and you can continue to play! you use magic to recover sanity
