This is one of those games in which is ways bigger in your imagination then it actually is. It suffers from bugs, but the character system is gorgeous. And yes, the name of the game promises amazing dungeons and they are, indeed, amazing. Many of the ideas you'll find in Dark Souls are also already present here.
Inexplicably, this game got a couple of re-releases after the collector's edition, the MMXII Edition (which has since vanished off the face of the earth), and the Steam Edition, which was just an updated MMXII Edition. Both are inferior to this Collector's Edition, which is the best way to experience Dungeon Lords with its original art direction. The new editions added strange filters that messed with the saturation, and the overall tone of the game just feels different. I enjoyed the dreary, glum atmosphere of the original game. It has a day/night cycle, but barely - day looks like night and night looks like slightly darker night. The combat system was surprisingly robust, the story is awful, and mobs can spawn in way too close to you. I distinctly remember a pack of wolves appearing in the sky and dropping on my character's head. D.W. Bradley, you absolute madman.
Loved to farm that arena minotour for hours. Want flex in full Deathwing set again, want find demonblades in haad temple, want melt Barogrhim army with single cataclysm, want lost in shadow islands forever...
The Steam edition wrecked the game. This version represents the best available vision of the original developer, DW Bradley. People need to play the true definitive edition of the game.
AHH Dungeon Lords! The early glimpse of Hack & Slash mid 2000 RPG, Where me and my Friend spend Thousands of Hours in this Game seperate or together and trying to figure out the Game itself. Alone the Hours in Lost Lake we spend in, where we rushed our Characters to (we called it Moon Island) for tough Power Leveling. This Collectors Edition is by far the best One out there without losing his Original Art Style, Progession and if you played Solo you could in the middle of a Fight Pause the Game by accessing the Inventory, what was Huge in my Opinion. Thats also what i believe many didnt liked the Reboot Version of MMXII or the Steam Version cause they ripped off the Soul out and lost for me the Charm what the Game offered. Small Details like that make or break a Game non the less The Collectors Editon fixed some bugs from the Original added small stuff in and you could connect decently via Direct IP with some Friends for Online Gaming. This Week i grabbed it from my Shelf but cant install anymore because newer operating System simply reject this Game. So please i beg you for Good old Times preserve this Game especially this Collectors Editon with some access to the Multiplayer
Loved this game back in the day, THQ did it wrong. I just want the original back, bugs fixed would be great but, as it was is just as well!
Great game that let you wander and find all kinds of hidden things, pretty steep learning curve but, I loved that about it.
Marvelous piece of an RPG. The plot is quite linear, but, for some reason, the game feels so open and limitless. The possibilities are endless.
Start as a super-punishing urgoth mage. Race your friend in a coop swimming through the slopes of the Unleveled lake. Cheese the vampire fight to get a stupendous amount of exp in early game. Fight the pack of wolves so slowly that it respawns before you even half-finished. Use OoB to get to the endgame location, and get stuck midway in the mountains because your friend went too far in the opposite direction to find themselves stuck in some hole as well. Have a notebook with a list of class quests that block each other if done in the wrong order. Shoot those elfves in the treetops ;). Kill the dragon at level 5, indeed, who cares about those 60-ish minutes spent. Raise your mana level until it overflows to negatives. Collect a ton of animal intestines in your inventory. Get lost and feel happy about it a thousand times. Jump before entering every location.
Wait, did the bugs and glitches make the most of that so warmly remembered experience? xD

Don´t forget The German Version, i also bought Oblivion GOTY (TES IV) in Englisch AND German, the Original and now i have in library Scraplivion instead REAL Oblivion -.-

Never gonna forget THE first ever rpg me and my best friend played as kids in elementary school. We had no idea what we were doing but we had such amazing time going through the game together, I'll always remember the funny messages this game had when you run out of ram memory and the game soft crashes with a message "monster in the space"😂 We actually never had the collectors edition, it was a version before CE and I specifically remember trying to find non existent loot and chests we saw in youtube tutorials but only exists in CE. Now my girlfriend and I are playing the steam edition multiplayer as a nostalgia trip but it's not hitting the same, they changed (threw out) everything that was good in CE and replaced it with very poor content... Would love to play CE again with actually working multiplayer through GOG this would be a must buy for me and few of my friends.🙏
