One of the best action games ever made with a massive skill ceiling, a charming story with excellently directed action scenes, and an insanely well optimized PC port capable of hitting 120FPS on nearly any PC built in the last two decades.
Earlier this year Capcom surprised PC Devil May Cry fans by removing Devil May Cry 3: SE (2006) and Devil May Cry 4 (2008) from Steam. A not insignificant chunk of the community still swears by the original release of DMC4 and not the latter Special Edition which suffers from a variety of issues not found in the original including horrible performance, missing effects, degraded color depth, bugged enemy AI routines, and more. And while DMC3:SE was a bit of a mess to get working properly and suffers from it's own issues, it is nonetheless interesting from a preservation standpoint for being a unique version of that game that is now suddenly unavailable (perhaps work could be done to make it more painless to get up and running on a controller). Both of these games had their own dedicated modding communities, and I think it would be nice to see them both preserved in an official, safe, and legal manner. Perhaps as a bonus downloads for those who purchase DMC4:SE and DMC HDC respectively.
