This was the first game I ever bought! I saw it in Toys Rus. It was the only game on the shelf. Back then, you were really lucky if you had something that stood out on the shelf. I was a car fanatic back then. I recognized the Etsel immediately. And I had to have it when I saw on the back of the box: You can build your own cars!!! It took a long time for me to convince my parents to invest 120 DM (German Marks). A huge box with, I think, two 3.5" floppy disks. I still have the game today, a good 31 years later. It's just impossible to play. Floppy disks, that's all.
About the game: It's an economic simulation set in the automotive sector. Developing cars, researching technology, improving, producing, and marketing. It starts in 1900 and "ends" in 2010, I think. Major events like World War I and II or the oil crisis had to be survived. I can still remember. The Blue Roadster did great until the war started. Then beige trucks were all the rage. Unfortunately, I never survived the great economic crisis of 1929. America wasn't a good place to be.
Great game, and I'll never make another one like it again. By the way, in Germany it was called Rüsselsheim (because of the location of a major German car manufacturer).
