I remember my grandparents bought this game one day for me, I was so confused as to why the case was massive compared to the other games we had at the time. I popped the disk in, and the 6 year old me was amazed at the graphics at the time. I started walking around not knowing what to do, because of course I accidentally skipped the intro. But it was fun seeing teh different environments... Then they started invading the station.
It became a survival horror before I knew what that was. I ran out of ammo, I just started running. I found a key item, I was able to do some new things, then I lost. Time to try again the next day, and learn more about the game each time. I never beat it as a kid, but I did when I went to play it again in my 20's.
Simple, fun, and definitely a product of the experimental times it was made in
