This was the game that first introduced me to the RTS genre. The voice acting gave this game a quirky light-hearted vibe. Each level had you taking your human characters scavenging supplies and stealing dinosaur eggs that you could hatch into controllable dinosaur units. You can unlock a bonus level where you control one T-Rex and do as much devastation to San Diago as possible. With each difficulty-setting you have extra levels to try out at the end of the game's campaign. This game was way more fun than any movie tie-in game should be.

This game came from a time where licensed games had a higher than average chance of being good. It was also from a time when the RTS genre had more variety. Sure, you're still doing base building and gathering supplies, but that's not the focus of the game. You also didn't often have games that would pay for the entire movie cast to voice their characters. Maybe things were different in the 90s and it didn't take long to record 45 minutes of dialogue. I guess what I'm trying to say is that this was a unique game from a unique period of gaming and it has been abandonware for almost 20 years. Time for it to emerge from the abandonware sites and get some kind of restoration and revitalization,

Amazing game with the real cast providing voice work. A really great RTS that felt really unique given the scenario. I would love to be able to add this one to the collection.
The basics are easy to pick up but the fun of building a velociraptor fleet or rampaging through a city with a T-Rex can't be beat! Solid number of the original cast lent their voices as well!
THIS GAME! I love this. It's not only a time capsule of the time it came out, but also so enjoyably simple. I would buy this in a heartbeat and keep my eyes watching for the old school games from here on.

I was a young kid when I played this. My Dad bought it when i was in my prime Dino loving days with Jurassic Park movies surrounding that love. We set it up on an old Compaq PC. Please bring this game to GOG. This one holds a special place in my memories!
My first computer was a Gateway 2000 with a 200mhz Pentium 2, a massive family gift for Christmas when I was very young. Packed in one of the three or four boxes was a binder full of CDs, one of which was Chaos Island. I had never heard of an RTS, but I had seen the associated movie and loved it - still do. It took me the better part of a year to get through it - again, Command and Conquer was a glint on a far horizon - but I loved chipping away it after school for several months in between levels of Dark Forces and trying to figure out that weird Goosebumps FPS that also came with the computer. I would love to see this one available so I could point people to it as my first RTS, a vital piece of my PC gaming history which was mostly just more Star Wars at the time. And still is. ... Star Wars games were pretty much everything else I did on my first computer. But this one is so good.
Those games also need your vote!

Black & White 2
Black & White 2In the game, the player takes the role of a god called from the void (nothingness) to help those who invoked them. However, the player is not an omnipotent style god, but rather a god who rises and falls with his believers and the player must help develop their nature according to their good or evil desires. The player also has a creature, their physical representation in the world, which takes the form of an anthropomorphic ape, lion, wolf, turtle, cow, or tiger. Its physical manifestation can grow to an immense size, and adopt a good or evil persona separate of the player's. They develop their character as the player rewards or punishes their actions. In addition to the god simulation and city-building elements introduced in the original Black & White, Black & White 2 also features elements of real-time strategy gameplay, with the addition of controllable warfare and fighting units.

Dune
DuneDune is a 1992 video game, based upon Frank Herbert's science fiction novel of the same name. Developed by Cryo Interactive, is the first of the Dune computer games. Dune blended adventure with economic and military strategy, and is considered by many the most immersive Dune computer game. Loosely following the story of the novel, the game casts the player as Paul Atreides, with the ultimate goal of driving the Harkonnen from Planet Dune, while managing spice extraction, military, and later, ecology through the native Fremen tribes. As the player progresses, his troops are equipped with weapons from "crysknives" to atomics, tap into Paul's latent psychic powers, and get acquainted with such characters from the book as Chani and Liet-Kynes.

Dune 2000
Dune 2000Real-time strategy taking place in Frank Herbert's "Dune" universe. The game is a remake of a classic RTS game "Dune 2". Player can play as a commander of one of three different factions: Harkonnen, Atreides or Ordos. Do you like the feeling you get when you have won over someone? If it was something that we had really worked hard, then the fell of victory is something precious and incalculable. The game Dune 2000 could help in giving your competitive spirit a new edge. It is an updated version of the Dune II. In this game the player would have to fight for an interesting thing; the control of the spices in the galaxy. The spices control could make you the most powerful there. The player has to choose to be one of the three houses first: Atreides, Harkonnen, or Ordos. Each house has its own vice and virtue and the right selection could give the player right start to the game but he could learn as well as, later in the game with time. Once you choose a side, you to win the King’s challenge of producing the most amount of spice. It won’t be as easy as it sounds. For getting the control of the spices, the player has to fight over the other two houses by all means. Dune 2000 is done with enough of stunt and live-in scenes to pep up the theme and there is a soothing sound score to add to the overall theme. It’s a game based on the Dune series book of Frank Herbert and gives the player a real pleasure of both combat and competition.
