One of the first games I ever played on an Amiga 600.
I loved the Story, the music from Matthias Steinwachs, is outstanding even today.
Considering the age of the game, the graphics aged well.
Gameplay was awesome, the puzzles were fun as well.
I remember having to fight the fire demon Luminor, he was ultra hard, until we found out that he can be weakend by pouring ice-water onto some flames.
Beat the guy the first time without weakening him, basically save scumming. =P It was intense and fun.
I also remember failing on a math puzzle for some doors.
The math problem was presented in the form of circles, squares and triangles of different colors, each representing a mathematical property like divison, mulitplication and numbers.
Since I was very young at that time I had a hard time figuring it out, basically trying to break the codes by putting in the numbers from 0 to 9999, which is an absurd amount of combinations and not really feasable =P
Eventually figured it out, it was a very rewarding feeling.
Another fun but weird memory is that the first time around I entered a cellar / basement I had no idea that you had to light a torch.
So I walked around blind in the cellar, together with my brother, and we drew a map on paper to figure out where to go.
When you walked into a wall the Hero would say " ouch " which we used then to map the cellar.
Until we figured out that we can light a torch and then see where we were going. =P
This game definitely did not held your hand, but it rewarded you feeling good about your discoveries.
The game featured a large map and different worlds to explore.
Exploration was rewarded, with many puzzles to solve.
The game just oozes atmosphere, to this day no other RPG comes even close to the experiences this game offers.
If this game would come to GOG it would preserve a true gem and milestone in the history of games.
