Kazuma Kiryu dachte, er hätte seine Tage beim Tojo-Clan hinter sich gelassen. Er und seine Ziehtochter Haruka Sawamura hatten sich in den Ruinen früherer Konflikte ein friedliches Leben geschaffen. Doch mit nur einem Schuss wurde ihr Idyll zerschmettert. Yukio Terada, der fünfte Vorsitzende des Tojo-Clans, wurde ermordet. Ein Krieg bahnt sich an und der legendäre Drache von Dojima wird erneut in die Welt hineingezogen, die er ein für alle Mal hinter sich lassen wollte.
Kiryu muss sich nach Sotenbori in Osaka begeben, um einen Frieden zwischen den rivalisierenden Clans auszuhandeln. Doch Ryuji Goda, auch als Drache von Kansai bekannt, will einen Krieg – um jeden Preis. In dieser Welt kann es nur einen Drachen geben.
Yakuza Kiwami 2, ein wahrer Klassiker der Yakuza-Serie, wurde in der Dragon Engine von Grund auf nachgebaut und in die Moderne befördert. Die PC-Version glänzt mit allen Features, die man als Fan erwarten könnte: 4K-Auflösung, unbegrenzte Bildrate, anpassbare Steuerung und robuste Grafikoptionen.
Aktualisierte Versionen von allseits beliebten Minispielen wie dem Cabaret Club Simulator und dem Clan Creator sind mit am Start, zusammen mit brandneuen Spielen wie Golfbingo und Toylets.
Auch neu dabei ist die „Majima-Saga“, in der Goro Majima in seinem eigenen spielbaren Abenteuer Ereignisse erlebt, die vor der Haupthandlung des Spiels stattfinden.

A Sequel
As is expected of this series, the game delivers a fantastic heavy story balanced by its many more light-hearted substories. But... The first thing that kinda nudged me in the wrong direction was the change to combat. You no longer have access to the 4 diverse fighting styles - you now only use 1, which is slow, wonky, and kind of unsatisfying (bar all the possible heat actions.) The worst offender though is the horrid state of the port. Besides many minigames and combat (mostly heat action prompts) being broken due to not being adjusted to running above 30FPS, trying to lock frames it won't only make the game look worse but it would also somehow reduce it by another 5, which is ridiculous. (I also experienced getting stuck in the ordinary 3rd person view whilst a dialogue scene was playing out more than once, but that's probably just my luck again...) If not for the great storytelling and the amazing Kiryu-Majima dynamic (of which sadly don't expect as much as the first), I'd give the game a lower rating. But it is still a memorable experience - for better or worse.

Wonderful series
Lots of the same things in in towns across the series but somehow never gets old, Story is always different even if the surroundings are familiar. If you are a completionist there is over 100hrs in every game.
