Very solid game though too talkative
This is the game I'd most recommend to a newcomer to the RGG Studio universe among those I've played (that is, except for this one "Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth" and the two "Judgment"). What bored me: VERY wordy dialogues (a studio specialty), well written but which give the impression of watching a series rather than playing a video game and which will take up at least half of your playing time. Dated and meaningless homoeroticism inherent in all works of fiction about the mafia. And incessant fights which - like the dialogues / cutscenes - artificially lengthen the lifespan. Among the positives: an epic story, strong and colorful characters, a very good combat system (in real time), a captivating and very fun atmosphere. Even though the game engine is dated today, incredible work has been done on the NPCs here for example, enhancing the immersion. Strong minigames (the disco, the cabaret club...) that kept me busy long after the game was over. While I preferred the narrative of the two "Judgment" games, which had deeper stories, Yakuza 0 seems like a good choice for discovering the studio and its flagship Yakuza / Like a Dragon saga.
